For Sunday the decision was made to head into the rather unknown gully Poličanka, which had been on the plan for some time. Its name was sounding more and more beautiful and familiar to me . Perfect spot for prescribed isolation, where you meet no one, hear only the murmur of water and birdsong. Well, we saw only one chamois, which had no interest in hanging out with us. The gully wasn't as dark as I expected, the sun was nicely sparkling in its waters, a rainbow stretched over the upper waterfalls and the magic of the moment was perfect . It also surprised me the tidiness of the gully, as if someone removed the branch debris, or nature cleaned itself . We set off along the calm, peaceful stream, but this wading across the stream water didn't last long, the terrain started rising and the adventure began . We needed to use all skills and strength to overcome all obstacles and barriers for advancing. Thoughts of what could happen if I slip and splash into the water, I resisted them right away, though I was hauling spare clothes in the backpack just for that case. Lots of risky crossings, steep climbs along the banks, pulling on branches and roots weren't spared us, hands grabbed whatever they reached , feet catching balance on slippery terrain. Pegs are a big help, prusiks for orientation, not for protection. Well, though I must admit I sometimes secretly pulled myself up with their help . In the gully you're fully busy, terrain difficulty demands caution and strength, waterfall beauties draw admiration. We did a loop tour and that was what inspired me from the start. From the gully we rose to the ridge Na Lipju, where we chased views toward Bukovo village, and above it stared at snowy Peči that sparkled in the sun on Sunday. We did the descent via magical Kozarska gully, where the pots drew me most, into which water pours and hides from eyes for a while. And when it runs out again, you marvel and stare. Gorgeous water and base too. Moss along the path quite a bit. Tour that leaves its impression long after it's done. Thoughts keep returning me to the gully, to its demands and beauties, and to the triumph you feel when you conquer it. But I must admit, without my group's help at some key spots, it'd be much worse for me. Glad I stayed dry too, spare clothes unused; ruined hairdo, dirty pants and stained sleeves just add value to the tour .
