Road to Ljubelj Hut is icy. I advise against sledding, quite dangerous due to ice.
From the hut onwards path partly trodden, snow frozen in morning, stays frozen in shade all day. Winter gear mandatory for safe ascent.

While the former ski slope basks in the shade, the walk along the old Ljubelj road to Ljubelj Pass takes place almost entirely in the sun. The road is initially dry, then slightly snowy and icy in places, and at the end with some more snow. From the hut to Povna peč there is even more snow and a packed trail to the summit. Maybe due to icy sections from the bench (sign) onwards to the hut it will be easier for some with crampons...

Condition on March 2: from old Ljubelj onwards to summit partly bare, partly snow. Bypass around ridge to summit was icy and required crampons.

Today on Povna peči from Ljubelj past Ljubelj hut. Snow all along path, from hut on only footprints in snow, so peak has poor visits. Despite warm weather not sinking much. Hut to summit and back met only two hikers though Sunday. Cleared summit bench of snow mežikanje

Sunday morning perfect for ascent to Ljubelj hut and on to Povna peč. Clouds racing, few raindrops, cleared one end darkened other. Weather not stable, happy for gathering at Povna peč. Easy 420m gain, 6km, good for families or short tour. Nice view Begunjščica, Vrtača, Košutica, Lokovnik Grintovec, Grlovec Austrian side. Fallen tree to summit bypassable, better right. Praise hutkeeper tea, gentian, super struklji, bravo. Happy renewed gathering...
