Given the remoteness it's no wonder there's no post on the forum. It's really not close, right at the end of Montenegro are the Prokletije, on the border with Kosovo and Albania, little known, little visited, but beautiful mountains. Although the highest were hiding in clouds and mists all the time and chasing us to the valley, they've inscribed themselves in a piece of the soul. Wild ones with heights over 2000m, with Montenegro's highest peak Zla Kolata (Evil Pastures somehow in translation) 2534m. Peak names starting with Maja (peak, e.g. Maja Jezerce, highest in Prokletije), mysterious valley names: Ropojana, Valbona, hundreds of mountain eyes, as they call the lakes, friendly people and guide, enthusiast for everything happening here. We stayed in Plav town by Plav Lake, excellent starting point for local tours. We climbed Popadija and Talijanka, two neighboring grassy two-thousanders, ascended Hridski Krš (2340m) past Hridsko Lake (over 2000), but the weather didn't let us reach Zla Kolata. Paths are well marked, starting points Plav, Gusinje and Vusanje. By the way we learned about the most beautiful Balkan trek called Peaks of the Balkans. Map is at home, definitely places I want to return to.
