Sounds good, what was the time?

Time was 1 h 42 min 30 s. Good 6 min faster than last time. Still quite some reserve. Maybe I'll do another such training before Grintovec.

Good time, what time do you plan to achieve on Grintovec?

Thanks. On Grintovec I plan to run around 1h 30min, if possible under too. But only if I stay healthy and uninjured. With these things it can go wrong quickly. In principle I'll join the 3rd Run to Dobrča on Saturday. This race isn't that tough and suits everyone. So welcome also those who'd like to try mountain running for the first time. best, bojan

With colleagues Dejan (aka Redbull) and Danilo we ran to Triglav today, as part of preparations for the Mountain Run to Grintovec. Weather was ideal, surprisingly very few people. Snow on Triglav no longer causes problems. Exception is only the path between Kredarica and Planika where there are snow patches. The fixed protections on the path are in place and have survived the winter well. REPORT: http://bojanambrozic.wordpress.com/2013/07/13/tek-na-triglav-prek-planike/

My hair stands on end when I read about running on the Triglav ridge. I'm afraid one day it'll say: mountain runner plunged from Triglav into the depths... Bojan, I know your running qualities very well - you're excellent, but please run only to Kredarica (or Planika), even 3x a day. Tomorrow taking granddaughter up. Easy.

I'll never understand trail running, just like many don't understand why I enjoy putting on crampons and climbing walls, and crazy exposed crumbly Martuljek ridges. I can only say hats off to you all for being able to run into such steepness and with such consistency... I'm not among the slow ones myself, but in 1h 50 min from the "bottom"?! Just clap-clap!!!

Still I think trail running is incomparably safer than alpinism. With trail running you can stop anytime, with alpinism you can't. Likewise I have respect for those who like to climb our crumbly hills. It's just not for me, since I get no pleasure from it. Otherwise this last run wasn't really fast. For comparison: Spanish trail running champion Killian Jornet ran from Chamonix to the top of Mont Blanc in 3 h 33 min a few days ago, then descent took him only 1 h 24 min (with his friend falling into a crevasse in between). In short for 3800m ascent and same descent he needed only 4 h 57 min! True he failed a few times this year before breaking the record. But I'm already really looking forward to meeting Killian, since this Friday I'll compete in the same race as him. Namely the famous vertical kilometer in Canazei in the Dolomites. The course is 2 km long and gains exactly 1000 m.

Oh my god! On two kilometers it rises a thousand. That's almost like Planica slope?!?! Well, report how it will be!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lsnq8b9NUVA Here Nejc luckily won, Jornet was "only" third, but the impression was made by the "unlucky" second place, who really ran the entire course! Hats off. Officially it's 2100 m and 1000 elevation gain, actually it gains that much in 2600 m, which is still insane. For comparison: direct to Kamniški vrh is 2.6 km and 715 elevation gain.
