The Thursday group of PD Škofja Loka don't give up (that better retired group). We still find some path around nearby peaks and look for hidden trails that locals show us. This time we chose Sivka and Mrzli vrh as main goal. Start was right in Žiri. First need to reach Vrsnik peak, where there is a stamp and logbook. At first it really goes on asphalt. Stamp is at ruins of former Italian guard post. Now there is a new stone building. The barracks walls are ingeniously preserved. Then we descended on meadows to nice hillock where beautiful little church of St. Tomaž resides. We arranged with the sacristan to open it for us. Before Vrsnik we had to go through Brekovice village. Continued through Gorenji Vrsnik village, Govejk village to Ledine village, where we even danced. Now follows Sivka. To there we go on unmarked paths that a local showed us. Past hidden buildings of Rapallo border we go also to top of Mrzli vrh. Here is hut, which they kindly opened for us. Otherwise open only on weekends. From there on somewhat steep path down to valley to Jarčja Dolina village, where transport waited and took us to Selo village for well-deserved hot snack. We walked about five hours. It was a beautiful sunny day. Crocuses made everything purple.

Nearby is a logbook box and stamp - 703m.

From the top of Vrsnik the little church of St. Thomas on the hillock is already visible - around the church there are many NOB monuments.

They opened the church for us - to visit it, one has to arrange.

In between of course also a little through the forest.

We arrived in the village Ledinske Krnice.

Now our main goal - Sivka and Mrzli vrh.

Past the abandoned buildings of Rapalska border.

Our last village of our five-hour tour - Jarčja Dolina.

Sivka 1008 m and Mrzli vrh (Loncmanova Sivka)

We started at Poljanska Sora in Žireh and continued through Ledinica past the church of St. Anne. Our path continued above Jarčja valley, where we admired its beauties. After a short break at the fairly new mtn. hut Mrzlk, we had to prepare for the cold of Mrzli vrh, which soon proved true. Gloves needed to be swapped for warmer ones, hood pulled over the head nasmeh

. But it was worth it all for easier admiring of all views opening from the path, especially from the top of Mrzli vrh. At the top really boundless expanse, like from rarely any peak of such height. On the extreme edge of Julijci the Stol massif shone nicely, then backdrop of Kanin mountains, Krn with neighbors of course always draws eyes, then over Vogel, Šija, Rodica to Poljane peak and further Porezen with Triglav in background moves to foreground. Sorški vrhovi in beautiful panorama raise question who they actually are. But no longer dilemma, beautiful they are for sure. Blegoš with its cap was of course unmistakable.
At the top we were alone, as we were alone on the whole path. Actually on both peaks, since we also stepped onto Sivka, which guards the peak on clearing among wonderful spruces rustling on their own in the tops. Even without view, enchants.

We returned through village Breznica and circled the tour again at Poljanska Sora, but this time from the other end. Really gorgeous trip, probably most beautiful right now.

On Saturday from Cerkno to Bevkov vrh and further to Sivka and return to Cerkno. The path went from Cerkno towards Veliki vrh, we didn't go to the top but under it, past the sanctuary towards Cerkljanski vrh, further to the stamp for Bevkov vrh, Bevšek, Sivka. Return more or less the same path. It added up to almost 34 km and 1760 meters of elevation. Wonderful path and super day. At the end, dinner at Pr Padkejc - all praise.
