Slovenian two-thousanders (Turn pod Črnim voglom)

Nice number of achieved peaks, but I think there are way more two-thousanders, they just don't have names yet or are not marked. Even Kočna, most northern SE peak could have a name, since Na Križu, Kokrska and Jezerska have, also peak on SE part (belly pass) could have but doesn't. Stories never end, just like dreams.

It could also be "Kneecrawler".

I'll join this debate on conquering 2000ers a bit too, since as mentioned I'm collecting them myself. Don't know about others, I took it like stamp collecting – there you know you'll never get all, but great satisfaction; now again as some – someone looks only at stamp value, other at value and beauty of print, third... Competitiveness wise I compete only with myself and enjoy mountain and nature beauties generally. Hiking or mountaineering or climbing (whatever), nice, interesting, adrenaline, soothing, could list more, even without peak bagging. That's just like mustard or Kranj horseradish

Since the debate is going, in my opinion, in the wrong direction, towards competitiveness, I will add something. My brother didn't undertake this at all out of competitiveness. After all, his colleague Anže also "collected" two-thousanders (http://www.gore-ljudje.net/novosti/120561/), knew his achievements, but never even considered trying to overtake him. They visited some peaks together. I was there on the NE ridge of B. Grintavca. If anyone deserves primacy here, it is surely http://www2.arnes.si/~mcuder/, who detailed all their hikes. Their descriptions are the most useful of all those available anywhere. If they perhaps were not on some peak (Turn pod Razorjem,...), that still doesn't mean they couldn't have managed it if that ascent had mattered to them. Where the old alpinist cats roamed in the past, we don't even dream! And with equipment incomparable to ours. His goal, as far as I know, was mainly to get to know the Slovenian mountains in detail. How often he mentioned: that hill looks completely different from the other side. I hadn't imagined it like that. I want to say that every mountain has several "faces", which we don't see from marked paths, and thus miss out on a lot.

For me, among these separate peaks of the same mountain, Koles (Kolos) on Kočna is very fascinating, whose prominent chopped-off west wall is also visible from the Julians. SECOND PICTURE ON THE LINK

The description of my today's approach to Turn pod Črnim Voglom is evident from the attached photos. By the shown variant from the col, the climbing does not exceed II.

Since I'm not in proper shape, I take the cable car to the top in a ladylike manner. From there, past the Peter Skalar hut, I descend to the marked path on the Kanin plateaus, which I follow for a while towards Kanin. At the appropriate spot by the big cairn, I turn left where, by finding the easiest passages through the scree rubble, I push through to the notch. From there, first one small chimney and then another smaller one to climb. Predecessors spoke of II difficulty grade, but you need to watch out as stones can stay loose in your hand. Back I dashed the same path, only I bypassed the upper chimney through a narrow gully. If I'd snacked at the top, probably it wouldn't fit. No other peculiarities on the path.
