Since Vinko modestly listed only bare data about his multi-year ascents to Slovenian two-thousanders, I, as a participant of some tours, will add my thoughts.
Brother was connected soul and heart to mountains already before this project, from childhood years and when we as teenagers already roamed peaks from Pece to Krn.
The idea of ascents to all two-thousanders however he started mentioning years ago, when he met Janez from Gorenjska, good expert of our mountains. Whether it was born to him then or before, he knows himself. Certainly though this acquaintance strongly influenced the start of "conquering" Slovenian two-thousanders.
Since then he constantly urged us, especially Janez, let's go to this and that ridge, to this and that peak. All ascents he carefully recorded, edited material and distributed DVDs to us, at which we will be able to enjoy still when legs won't carry us up there anymore.
When I look back, I can say only this, that probably on many a ridge I wouldn't have climbed if not for this idea. Especially not on those extremely crumbly.
Ascents were all (as far as I know), except the penultimate, one-day. So, morning around 4 from Maribor and evening return. Janez sometimes joked, saying you Styrians don't bother driving to Julians for less than 10 hours of walking and climbing. And mostly it was so. Sometimes more, rarely less.
There were also tours when Vinko by evening made 7 or more ticks on his list. So long ridges with numerous peaks and hours of access, climbing and descent. To numerous peaks (mainly marked) ascents were done also in winter.
Where it was hardest, easiest, most crumbly, most crazy ledges, steepest grass..., Vinko might confide. Or maybe not. Maybe he won't want to spoil joy to someone upon discovering the above.
All tours on which I had honor to be along will remain in nicest memory, both ridges and peaks on which we climbed, as the good company that was present. Certainly we will repeat them sometime in good company.
