On my list there are 304 ticks on the list of 359 Slovenian 2000ers. This year I visited Krivi rob 2009m, Veliki Konj 2034m, Zadnjo Lopo 2115m and Slovenski turnc 2267m. 55 peaks still await me, of which about 5 forever, since they exceed grade III.

As far as I know there is no official list. There are several ways of counting peaks. Some count all peaks with names, others all measured points, but the most suitable way for counting two-thousanders for me is the one that considers only peaks that rise at least 50 m above the highest saddle of the neighboring higher peak. This way Mali Triglav drops off the list even though I've been on it exactly as many times as on Triglav. By the same criterion Rjavec at Triglav, Spodnja Dolkova špica and Rigljica at Dolkova špica, Rjavčeve glave and Nad Kuhinjo Špica at Cmir, Mali Oltar at Veliki, Mišelj Glava and Koštrunovec in Mišeljski greben, Kopica and Mala Tičarica above Sedmerimi, Prvi and Srdnji Vogel before Zadnji Vogel, Mala Mojstrovka and Rob Velike Dnine in the Mojstrovka ridge and so on and so forth. Everyone has their own list. So maybe it's better to say I've been on a good 62% of two-thousanders, just like (mito3000) said he was on the worse half. I also calculate that I'll conquer 80 to 90% without alpinists' help. All who joined this discussion, I greet nicely and wish them lots of success in collecting their goals, regardless of which list they are from.

Yes, basically it's a question of prominence. I think it's a fairly reasonable definition that a point must have at least 50 meters of prominence to consider it a peak (although - in this case Mala Rinka would also be problematic. But that's how it is).

taubi4, I agree, there are indeed some peaks on various lists that someone put there mainly to "spice up" the work for those who do this.
But, when I look back now, I'm grateful to all who compiled these lists.
For example, you mentioned Mali Oltar. Now I wouldn't trade it for Veliki no matter how big it is. And I don't care about those 50m difference...
Otherwise I'm not a collector of two-thousanders, but I visit them more by chance here and there (brother's project), and still so far I've experienced many beautiful things on these peaks that I would never have visited otherwise. We often focus too much only on the Big ones, and neglect the Small ones that can offer us even more.

Vrata - Plemenice - Šmarjetna glava - Planika - Kredarica - Planika - Dolič - Vrata

Two free days for enjoying beautiful high-altitude destinations.
With fully packed gear over Plemenice, where at least small crampons were undoubtedly mandatory, as the snowy base was frozen with icy glaze especially on Triglav slabs from Plemenice to the junction of the path from Triglav.
Footprints are visible though, but very slippery. The favorite peak of the first day was Šmarjetna glava, which I did via self-seen pathless route from the slabs, with as little loss of height as possible to the saddle on top of Šmarjetna glava.
The path is dry, with very well visible cairns from the saddle and passages all the way to the top. Descent from the saddle to the northern pathless side to the junction of the path to Planika and final Kredarica.
The next day work obligations prevented the approach to Triglav...it would have been undoubtedly a nicely rounded tour.
On the way only company of many chamois, only at Kredarica "civilization".
The path is important, not only all originally desired peaks nasmeh

Zadnjica - Komar - Dolič - Šmarjetna Head - Dolič (conditions 4.08.2017)

If you start hiking from Zadnjica, I recommend ascent via the secured path over Komar, this year the path is freshly and exemplary marked and nicely indicated with direction arrows, so – even if you go here for the first time (and pegs and wires are help and not trouble for you), you will feel safe and satisfied, because there is no "traffic" of hikers mainly from western EU countries who mass to Triglav via the gentler mulattiera.
If you stay or overnight at Dolič and have another two hours to explore the surroundings, I recommend a jump to Šmarjetna Head (2.358m) - beautiful, solitary and not too difficult peak for ascent, although the last part requires some scrambling on all fours (I. is a short part of ascent just below the top).

There is unfortunately no official or marked path to Šmarjetna Head, as access is pathless, but orientation in good weather and good visibility is not difficult, … of course numerous cairns help you too. We started from Dolič right on the mulattiera to Morbegno (or Glava na Zaplanji) or towards Triglav, but left the marked path already at the third larger serpentine above the hut. Further we go pathless to the east and look for best passages through rocky and scree terrain. No need to ascend too traverse-wise, as access to the saddle under Šmarjetna Head is easiest via scree valley south below it and along its western edge.
From the saddle upwards we stick to the ridge all the way, which is steep but wide enough, just below the top it's best to avoid difficulties and steepness on the right. The top has BPP stamp, is relatively very spacious, the eastern slope towards Velo polje is still green and quite extensive. Back we descend the same path to the saddle, then stick to the southern "valley" below the mountain and continue over a small ridge and carefully down through steep slope towards Dolič, where about 100 m before the hut we can join the main path leading to the hut.
As said, on Šmarjetna Head you will surely find peace and almost no tourists.

I laughed yesterday evening when I opened Mihelič's guidebook and read that Šmarjetna glava takes pity on some weird lover of pathless solitude once every quarter. Well, I found out, if I didn't know before. I wondered what then applies to those who were up there yesterday for the third timenasmehnasmeh

Yesterday's trip lasted quite long, Šmarjetna gora was the only goal. But it's worth taking it as a standalone goal, since you miss nothing on it. Everything it lacks would be superfluous.
Spacious summit, from which you observe great peaks close and far, up there peace and solitude.

For lovers of that, the true peak!

Yesterday on this solitary summit. And so beautiful and even much more beautiful views wherever the eye reaches. The path is bp. Especially the solitude, which really rests you, although you arrive at the goal exhausted in the end after almost a 12-hour walk.

In August I was for the first time on Šmarjetna glava, the same feelings overwhelmed me, remote, solitary, but with such wonderful views. The same day I was also on Kanjavec, but it couldn't match the feelings it aroused in me. There are summits that are conquered and summits that conquer you.

Ring/circle around Triglav with Šmarjetna glava

A few minutes past five I park in Zadnjica, pay with my phone, and instead of an SMS notification for all-day parking, I receive a notification that I paid 0.60 EUR for one hour. eek Somewhat uncertainly, I proceed along the road and spot a light in the Kopiščarjeva hut. While explaining my problem to Vinko, an interesting couple arrives at the door. Later we set off together on the path, and up to the Luknja - Dolič junction they decide to join me for a section, so at Jolanda we turn together onto the Old Kugy path. Without problems we find a good line and after two hours we reach the marked path near the Sphinx. At the fork for the Kugy ledge we say goodbye. They wave and continue towards the Triglav notch and 'Roof of Slovenia', while I head left over the scree to the entrance of the Kugy ledge (airy and crumbly), via which I reach the plateau. Past the remains of the glacier I pick up the marked Kredarica-Triglav path right where the path around Triglavski Vogel descends towards Planika. After a quick, expensive, and really disappointingly bad coffee in the Planika hut, I continue to the 'airfield' (Vinko, thanks for the lesson on the name) and through the little valley behind Šmarjetna glava. Midway through the valley I turn left into the wall/slope of the aforementioned head and after quite unpleasant crumbly scrambling I reach the ridge. The summit is close, the views from it splendid. I descend to the saddle and continue towards Dolič saddle. Below the hut at Dolič I am back on the morning mule track, which I leave at the junction for Komar. The upper part of the path is muddy and slippery. The lower I go, the hotter it gets, so I refresh myself at the waterfall at the end of the path. The descent to the starting point is just a leisurely epilogue to the tour.
