This section on the path over the roots, experts compare it to Brana in winter conditions, or the death zone above 8000m in the Himalayas. One turn lower they could pile up a couple of ramps so you don't have to jump so deep. Next year they'll saw off all the roots too and we'll have a wonderful trail run track ensuring safe distance between ascending hikers and those descending.
PS: 5 minutes 43 seconds was what Marjan Zupančič needed last week for descent from the top to the bottom over the roots. If they covered it all with sand he'd go smoothly under 5 min

I think there's nothing wrong if they tidy it up a bit. Also the section over roots above the junction to Mazijeva has been messed up for quite a while and it wouldn't be bad if they fixed it a bit.
Maybe others go up there besides the heavy alpinists who posted in the last comments.

Ah, that guy again with his ego and stopwatch. You won't find such a puffed-up egoist anywhere around. Yeah, he can fly to Smarna Gora for all I care, but as a person he's crap. 
Nothing wrong if they tidy the path a bit. But make a highway? What next, cable car to Triglav too, because others besides heavy "alpinists" would go up.

OK, obviously I missed the forum a bit. Sorry to all whose mood my descent time info ruined. I mentioned it just as a fun fact. If runners, cyclists and other hikers don't greet you, that's not my problem. Interesting is Tinky's reaction. He goes to Smarna every day and posts pics, rides around town with camera taking pics of underage girls, herons and other sights... All that he thinks is useful info, but when I post some data in his thread that's actually interesting to many, the gentleman gets upset.

@exwannabe I don't know where you saw the highway, and you probably don't go to Smarna much either. Certain parts really need renovation because they're dangerous, especially when wet and especially because less experienced hikers go there too (I wouldn't waste words on them, but that's how it is). That you saw one little excavator doesn't mean they're concreting, but that they made the work a bit easier for themselves.

Lamps, very interesting blog. The descent time of runner Marjan Zupančič 5 minutes and 43 seconds is really fantastic. Even our favorite Primož would hardly beat that time. Don't apologize too much, because some people value themselves very highly. With Mr. Tinky you have to handle with kid gloves, because the gentleman flares up right away if the post isn't on his frequency. Careful!
