Yesterday nice tour to Špik. Snow starts above the first sections of fixed protections in Kačji graben. No visible tracks, nor people. Conditions mixed, from nicely compacted to quite softened snow (especially at the boundary between "snowfields" and forest on descent). In current conditions: early hour is golden hour. If it freezes a bit in the next days, it'll be top.

Yesterday it would have been a sin to stay at home despite the forecast extreme heat. Despite the latter I only left the car at half past six, followed by twenty minutes of warming up on the flat road.  Stezica b.p., the cables survived the winter well, the first snowy gully appears a quarter of an hour before exiting the forest. I only step out of the pleasant shade for the first time under Lipnica, when Špik appears in full. Snow just right, it sank to the ankles, on the descent I use it for sliding. From the equipment I only used gaiters, which I put on during the descent, as the snow had meanwhile strongly softened. Up top I namely enjoyed a good hour alone in the warm sun and windless conditions, the only person (foreigner) I see during the descent from Lipnica, who arrived from the direction of Gamsova špica, otherwise I didn't spot anyone on any summit. Down slowly, the heat really intense, 30 degrees in Kranjska gora. But heavy trucks slightly spoiled an excellent day for me just before the goal, which were driving slowly though, but the multitude of wheels raised dry road dust, so I already thought about refreshing in Jasna
My fingers weren't cold, so again a few more pictures.

Been today, up over Krnica, down Kačji greben. No snow anywhere on the path

Hi,
It's been a long time since I was on the same loop, so I've already forgotten the timeline a bit.
How long did you take for the whole tour, and how was it with the heat? How much liquid did you drink?
Did you start early?

Today, 5 hours 20 for this loop.
The heat is only on the cycling path back.
