Hello to all mountaineers from Croatia, I ask someone who was last weekend on Stol and Vrtača to write whether there is snow on the top and whether it is known if Prešernova koča will be open this weekend (9. and 10.10.). Thanks in advance for the answer

Slovenian mountaineers unfortunately have no clue about the question..

Hello! My friends were on Saturday at Vrtača. I didn't join them because there was fog in the valley and I didn't feel like it. But above 1.700 the sun awaited them. No snow. The hut on Stol is closed according to PZS data. I am attaching a link to all huts, shelters, etc., so you can check the situation yourself. Nice weather is forecast for the weekend. I wish you a pleasant trip wherever you go. Irina http://www.pzs.si/index.php?stran=Seznam%20ko%E8

Heinz, if I understood you correctly, you answer on behalf of Slovenian mountaineers. Unfortunately not in my name for sure. But I'm experienced enough that I understand Croats without translation. I think mountaineers' etiquette requires from us to pass a correct answer to a foreigner who likes hiking in our mountains. At least with me it's like that. That you don't understand Croatian, given your age, is pure pretense.

On the mentioned peaks NO SNOW, for weather conditions check ARSO. Weekend is still far! Prešernova hut on Stol is already closed, Valvasorjev dom below Stol and Planinski dom on Zelenica will be open.

Ok.. I suggest only that you look well at those flags in the top left corner once and for all and maybe ask what they are meant for.. Otherwise t.i. "nevicica" posed a question to "Croatian mountaineers".. so legenda-.., maybe not wrong if you responded.. Next time click on the Croatian flag so you can comment in peace without "overbearing Heinzes".. Do you think for Himalaya it's possible to ask in native Slovenian? (could be..?!?..) legend, hold your horses!

Heinz (how Slovenian ) what if nevicica sent greetings from Croatia, not asked Croatian hikers. A bit of tolerance doesn't hurt either. I settle everything with Croats without problems in Slovenian. And we all understand. LP

Completely unnecessary comments. Unfortunately you can't get rid of impatient people anywhere. What bothers me though, heinz, that you answer on behalf of Slovenian hikers, since most know conditions on Stol and if you don't know write only for yourself. I don't understand why heinz and similar never react to questions in English. Regarding flags I really don't understand. So Slovenian hikers don't understand flags...

Sadly you disappointed me Heinz. Such people I don't like to meet, in mountains especially not. Such narrow-mindedness that barely reaches over the edge of Karavanke personally bothers me a lot. Nice regards

As much as I understand comments then we hikers are really different people. If that's true, then why do you attack heinz.

I fully understand why heinz is so allergic to everything south of Kolpa and east of Sotla. More allergic than the most stubborn true Janezes. Shame, heinz. On this side you built a reputation with your contributions, now you spoil it unnecessarily with such outbursts.

Shouldn't we leave such debates to other internet sites? Here we talk about mountains and people who love mountains.

We need to reintroduce the proven well-known remedy against tightness of the spirit, namely after rainy, gloomy weather go to the hut! .

And such xenophobic people go on vacation to Croatia - but believe every nonsense invented by Slovenian journalists and Joško Joras, then smear everything that's not Slovenian.

'Morning everyone.... I'm sorry that a simple question sparked the issue of interethnic tolerance.. We use every free moment to enjoy your beautiful mountains, and also the people-mountaineers. We are always welcome guests in your huts, I must admit that in twenty years of mountaineering we never once felt unwanted because we are Croats; quite the opposite, there is always exceptional courtesy and culture on display. And that is a good feeling that we bring home every time, along with mountain pictures... And what to say about "heinz"? Dear friends, such characters who use every chance to lash out at everyone exist among us in Croatia too.. No need to mind them, they live in their own world anyway, one that doesn't know the richness of hanging out with mountaineers-people at peace with themselves and the universe... Thanks for the replies everyone. All the best and lots of kilometers on foot in the hills. Best regards, Nevičica

I really like Croats! The best sea and friendly people are there! Only good experiences with them. Slovenes don't shame me and stop being nationalists. Croats you just keep asking on the forum... don't worry about some troublemakers! P.S. Croats, good luck with soccer Best
