Ervin, your reason is limping a bit?! Small children up to 10 years can't walk more than 5-6 hours a day. The path to Triglav, with weather changes (lightning, wind, snow) is a big challenge even for alpinists. Most importantly, protecting children (rope, helmet) on such paths, if we tackle them even in summer. I recommend suitable tours: Šajda-Obir, Ukve-Ojstrnik, Rosstatfe(parking)-Dobrač, Greben Košute(dry), Pl.pri jezeru-Kreda or Ogradi, Pokljuški greben gora, Pl.Ravne-Vel.vrh, Stare štale-Lučki dedec, K.na Loki-Raduha, Dom na Peci-Peca, Krnska jezera-V.Baba or Montura, Vršič-M.Mojstrovka, Zajzera-Poldnašnja špica, Rudno polje-Tosc or Draški vrh, Pl.Blato-Prevalski stog. Tours are suitable for the season. Best regards

Another nice trip for kids, today we went to Velika Raduha from Planina Loka. The path is easy, very good motivation this time of year is the abundance of raspberries along the path. We all enjoyed the nice views, and I'd also praise the excellent sour milk and schnapps at the hut on Loki. Best, Andrej

With my daughters who are now 7 and 12 years old, in the last good two years we've done quite a few hiking trips, even those that lasted 8-10 hours a day. Of course we started gradually. It's important to study the route well before leaving and try to find something that will motivate them. For us it's animals (ibex, marmots, ...), flowers, or some sights etc. A story also helps. We have a solid pace (usually take as much as the signs say), but we make sure there are breaks (at least every 2 hours) - not so much because of possible fatigue, but for the "atmosphere". Otherwise, you need to listen to the kids and consider their wishes and concerns. That might mean turning back just below some summit. For possible ideas, check out our photo album of trips (where there's no kid in the picture, they weren't there ): Photo album
