On Wednesday, January 25, 2012, hikers and lady hikers from PD Velenje, as part of midweek outings, participated in a hike to Holy Spirit on Ostri Vrh. The starting point of the hike was at nine in the morning in Ožbalt on the Drava or a bit lower at Šturm stream, where we turned right towards Vurmat. The path led us through the forest and past lonely farms, we had a short stop at Virtičev mill. A little after eleven we arrived at Holy Spirit on Ostri Vrh, followed by a tour of the place itself and the surroundings of the Church of the Holy Spirit. After the tour, we refreshed ourselves in the village inn Heric. Then descent towards Austria, in the place or village Schlossberg we visited the renowned winery Oberguess (http://www.oberguess.com), where they produce quality Sauvignon wine. From there it wasn't far to the finish, we concluded the hike a little after three in the afternoon in the border hillside village in Kobansko, in Gradišče on Kozjak.
The weather served us excellently, we got a bit of everything, at the start of the hike when ascending towards Holy Spirit, it even snowed for a short time, then it cleared up and the rest of the day was sunny. There's not much snow in Kobansko and in the southern part of Austrian Styria, the most (up to cca. 10 cm) was on the path to Holy Spirit and on Holy Spirit, across the border or in the wine-growing Schlossberg, where the climate is much milder, there's no snow at all.

I used vacation from work for ascent to Sveti Duh. Left vehicle at sawmill at start of road through Vurmat. Then along road to wooden bridge and up demanding path to Virtič mill. On that rocky and partly slippery part a wire rope helps. From Virtič past pond the path flattens again and after two hairpins reaches asphalt before church and monument to Đuri Đaković and other revolutionaries. Refreshments at Heric inn, which is in some way also a mountain hut (book and stamp), then back the same path.
Nice thing. The gorge of Šturmov stream is really beautiful, multitude of waterfalls and also the sound of water... It's a pity that that path has no description here on hribi (for now...)

I was there a few hours later and can confirm what you wrote. For all undecided add that I decorated path with some extra markers for easier orientation, so where you got stuck a bit (f. 25) no more dilemma.
Real proper autumn learning path - with all mushrooms and other forest fruits right on path and beside ...

Of course this trail is worth repeating at some other time of year since I like the starting point - lots of parking space and it's not that far from my home. As for the trail, I can say it's nicely marked except on that part that puts you in a bit of a dilemma but I quickly found myself on the forest road that brought me back to the marked trail.

That part where you went left is called "brezovje", because there used to be a lot of birches there. Otherwise from the valley there are several variants possible and all lead to Duh. I agree though that this path is nicer than the one from Šturm, although I think the one from Šturm is more visited lately. Maybe because it's shorter.

28.03. Sveti Duh on Ostrem vrh
Start from Galič farm in Vurmat, ascent through the gully to the little church on top. In the gully there's quite some water and you hear nothing from the forest...
Heric inn, which is somehow also some kind of mountain hut, is closed... Refreshment a bit downhill at the former border crossing at tourist farm Vališek. Back the same way.
Path is muddy, just a little snow at Virtič mill, that might have melted by now too.

Today I headed to Sveti Duh on Ostrem vrh through Šturmov jarek. The path is without special features, just noticeable that there must have been considerable devastation here last year. Weather as it is from one extreme to another. Snow shower on ascent, sun on top and on descent again snow and that quite heavy.

Yesterday (11.02) to Sveti Duh on Ostrem vrh through Šturmov graben.
Path is very icy in places, most of all on the cable which here is really helpful. Still recommend crampons. Heric inn is closed because it is being renovated.
With me were friends Cviko and Jež.

Today, in search of the sun to it over Krtički reber and descent via Vodnik gully. Somewhere above 850m it partially cleared; also the snow(frozen) blanket starts at this altitude, in the gullies even much lower. Pleasant and solitary paths.
