There is nothing new in the findings that Svinjak due to its shape really catches the eye and it is worth climbing it. The trail is moderate, only about 150 m before the summit somewhat steeper. Today it was neither wet nor slippery, no snow of course, just the heat suddenly pressed and thirst was greater thereafter. Excellent water right at the end of the trail quenched at least four fires in throats and washed salt from forehead. I like this Svinjak, not luxurious with height, definitely with views. As always, nice at this end. nasmeh

Sign by the road, it slightly exaggerates the time, but it doesn't matter.

Every time you peek out of the forest, a nice view. Here towards Jerebica.

A wonderful winter sunny day was perfect for the ascent to Svinjak, which doesn't let you rest all the way to the top. Walking through the forest on a path full of dry leaves is pleasant, but caution is necessary as it slips quite a bit. After two-thirds of the path, patches of snow begin. Snow accompanies all the way to the top, but crampons could stay in the backpack. At certain spots you need to be very careful, especially on the last, steepest part of the ascent. Good concentration is mandatory also on the descent. The views opening up along the path captivate the hiker. It would be good to refresh the markings a bit, more of them could be on the trees.

Finally at the top. The mini Aljaž Tower gets a kiss.

How steep it looks. Who would say you can climb the Slovenian Matterhorn.

Conditions on Svinjak are already fully spring-like, no snow even on the top anymore.

For the fourth day of our jaunt in the Julians we chose Svinjak, because from the valley it really draws the eye. We thought we'd climb to the top just casually, since the peak doesn't boast much height but it demanded its prescribed time. The path is gorgeous, the view from the top wonderful and the narrow subpeak ridge nicely interesting and especially panoramic.

On Sunday, 12.4 I climbed Svinjak. The path is dry, only under the summit a few meters of snow, which was quite hard in the morning. It goes through without problems. Some pics here: http://graheljsblog.blogspot.com/2015/04/svinjak-in-izvir-slapa-boka.html

...Often admired. Finally I managed to step on this special peak too. The path is otherwise nice, just through the forest there's lots of leaves that are very slippery. Not as bad as I thought... nasmeh

Today, Svinjak in nice weather, ideal conditions for hiking, no wind, not much visited, only five of us on the top.

On Sunday we repeated the tour to Svinjak. Airy peak, nice views, great day. Two pairs of eagles were soaring around there. Very few hikers for such a nice peak.

How does Svinjak look dressed in autumn colors? It was pleasant to walk in the forest today. Leaves rustled under our feet. Beeches are still in nice colors. Larches towards the top only now slowly yellowing, no hurry at all. Otherwise a bit windy on top, view though really nice, to Jerebica and Loška stena, only Rombon summit shyly hiding. No one on top today except us. Someone brought a red velvet rose to the post on top.
