On Saturday from Jermanca to Staničev vrh and over Zeleniške špice and via Srebrno sedlo along the path under Planjava to Kamniško sedlo to Brana via Šija. The whole tour is wonderful scrambling around II on Šija, one poor III.

That hardest part described above as III.grade, me and colleague rather avoided it to the right (ahead then slight descent), because rock is really completely vertical and I didn't feel too confident that I could manage it.
All else except that spot is pure enjoyment.

Yesterday we go to Brana via Šija. It's nice because it's not hot, not blowing too strongly and because B. comes back to get me (and scold), because already at the start I find myself in the middle of a crumbly slide. Despite or because of it I like the ridge a lot, it's varied, nice views and good rock.

Oh, thanks. Yes, we left the backpacks near the junction to the ridge, above Kamniško sedlo, then you're quickly around.
The next day we had one backpack with us.

This week we went to Brano via Šija. This SE ridge is without peculiarities since last time, offers pleasant scrambling within I. and II. grade, one spot with short problem within III (k). To avoid unpleasant first third of ridge over scree, we started a bit below the hut, up gully right of Zgornji steber. Difficulties around II, some shorter III, overall more serious than Šija - partly crumbly and loaded, quite exposed, orientation more demanding. Still some nice details, like through natural arch (like bottomless barrel). Initially we stuck to gully or chimney, then we exited left to Steber ridge. Bypass last difficult tower, end of Zg. steber route, via left detour.
We climbed all unroped, but don't recommend for first time.

Yesterday with a buddy to Kamniško sedlo, but I wanted a quick hop to Brana via Šija. After a few years back on this beautiful varied little ridge. Something for the soul.

A year has come around and it is time for Šija again. Strong wind and shadows created a dramatic atmosphere this time. On the ridge all is as before; at that hard spot there is still the peg.
