As it seems we'll soon be left only with Iglu and Kibubo. Some smaller retailers still exist, but the question is how long they can stay afloat.

Hello, since I haven't seen any open thread on touring ski courses, I'll try here - could someone please give me some advice or recommendation on which or whose course to choose? I have no knowledge in this area, so I'd have to start from the basics..., but I'd like to learn touring skiing comprehensively and qualitatively. Thanks in advance for the help! Mateja

Hello! I'm changing the skins! But I'm considering a different attachment than before. All these years I've used CONTOUR attachments. That is, front TOP FIX tensioner, rear hooks. Now it should be fixed front, tensioner rear. I don't know how it performs though. Please those with experience for advice. I'm attaching a picture of the tensioner - rear. LP and safe in the mountains!

I have it like that in the back. No problems. Good luck.

@Swiss, the thing is quite ok. Careful though when ascending with skis in hands, if you stab the tails into very hard snow. The tensioner can actually break. best d

Actually it's not a tensioner at all, but just a pin with a tail. On Pomoca skins, which I've used for years, the pin is slightly wider than the ski groove, which can of course be adjusted, but this pin occasionally comes loose (as front tensioners sometimes did), then it's nice if someone behind you in the track puts it back elegantly, not having to unclip the ski and bend down Definitely heed Darja's advice, currently I only know one such case where stabbing ski tails into hard snow it snapped. With Pomoca you can apparently get spare parts. As seen on the picture the tail is somewhat long, where that part can get caught. Otherwise this skin attachment method seems much better and simpler to me. Simply push the pin in front and stick the skins, then hook and tension rear. Before I always carried a spare tensioner, since you never knew when it would tear.

Igor! Thanks for the tips. You're right, with Contour tensioners the flaw is that the rubber always tears after prolonged use. PS! I didn't want to contact you, since you say this winter "info center Zlodej" won't operate. LP and safe in the mountains!

Which touring skins do you recommend, regarding material from mohair or synthetic? Thanks

Skins made with addition of mohair mixture grip better on snow, of course they are more expensive too. Snow sticks less to them and they fit well to the ski surface.

Elan Montana, for now they serve me quite well, otherwise used Pomoca for many years and was very satisfied.

@Igor thanks for opinion @Pfranci ..yes I know that offer, it's not the only one at that price, but user experience interests me more, since the price is quite affordable, I'm leaning a bit to buy them.

My 6 year old Dynafit skins still carry me fine, with that I made a new glue film. At home in the corner Volkl Inuk are already waiting for me. Heard that privately somewhere near Kranj you can get skins cut to size for around 15 eur. They praise Black Diamond skins too, those orange ones. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rqu7vMO1KeU
