Hello! I searched a bit, but didn't find any thread on touring skins, dogs... My question is: What dimensions of skins should I get for skis with the following dimensions: 113 - 78 - 100. Ski length:170 Ideally the skins should be such that they don't need to be cut. First time buying this stuff and I don't quite know what dimensions are acceptable. Thanks for the answer!

I took my skis there where I bought the skins and they cut them to fit my skis (Gecko skins) and I'm very satisfied.

I suggest width 76 or 74 - with perfect placement 2mm remains on each edge. Makes mounting easier if you're picky.

Well, yeah, those from Iglu I've already ordered, but the saleswoman didn't mention that they can do it for me. I wouldn't do it myself so I don't mess something up. I'll go straight to TERO to sort it out. Now the fax starts again and I'll be in LJ thanks

Does anyone know where they do glue renewal on skins? I wouldn't tackle it myself at home

@kucelj, excellent, easy to stick on and peel off. I think you won't regret it.

I've been using Gecko for two winters and I'm satisfied As for Promontana in Kranj, don't rely on them too much....management has changed and they are very poorly organized...my girlfriend has been waiting a month for a response on when they'll get wider skins....

wider dimension skins that you cut yourself you get here: http://www.agp-pro.si/POMOCA/ Of course I've been using this brand for years and they serve me excellently, last winter I did 92 tours, and they'll be usable for at least one more winter,

Management hasn't changed at all, but only a few capable employees remained, the rest were completely superfluous there and in my conviction in the wrong place. For today's sales you need broad knowledge, good prices, know what our market needs, also a lot of experience with gear in the field, work well with companies you're loyal to, to get good buy-in prices from them and thus good retail prices, honesty, friendliness, good advice. I myself notice that many good foreign mountaineering gear companies have fallen short for the user. They produce some minimalist jackets, some hybrids etc. that by material weight don't suffice for winter use at all, even though winter product.Well, just today I opened a box from Ireland, in it Rab Zip Top Powestretch second layer, which pleasantly surprised me with good grammage 360g/L, extended lumbar part and high collar, large chest pocket.Such details make the product as it should be, since globally any standing company can get to the material. But if it makes a product transparent and in the spirit of a mountaineer, that's another question, or if it even wants to.OR Outdoor Research is becoming more and more interesting and loyal to me.

Exactly so, Viharnik. Because of that kind of attitude that @snork's girl experiences, I rarely buy in Slo shops.

Well, the topic is something else, but you're already the second to stray, so I'll give my opinion too. The Slovenian market for mountaineering or alpinist gear is one big anomaly, where one "monopolist" dominates the market and decides what will be available in Slovenia and what not, the others mostly vegetate and pick up crumbs.

Well I don't know, Kibuba isn't exactly dependent on Igluja Otherwise another company has taken over Promontana

Yes, I have similar experiences with ProMontana. I gave them my contact details so they could order something for me ... more than a month passed and they didn't even call to say, hey sorry it won't work. Similar ignorant attitude also at one other shop. But I'm excited that they sell DMM. They don't complicate discounts either. In person ok attitude. I bought the DMM Cirque ice axe there, couldn't be more satisfied. Noticeably higher quality than Nepal SA. I plan to buy DMM sets there too (Alpha Trad) and extra karabiners. So for some things ProMontana is good. I'm glad I don't have to order DMM by mail.

It'll be. They say that in Promontana they will stock up on winter gear by the end of this month or at the latest at the beginning of November, for now only in Kranj.
