Traverse: Bogatin-Tolminski Kuk

Yesterday I set out on a full-day tour, namely the traverse from Bogatin to Tolminski Kuk. I start, of course, in Ukanc and go up to Komarča, because the mulatjera is enough for me to return. Pleasantly surprised by the water at the fixed protections under the summit of Komarča. About a week ago I even climbed a bit up the gully to see the water, now we really step over it. I go to the hut Pod Bogatinom for a few panoramic views and hot tea. I always write about some panoramic view. Then to Vratca or Bogatinsko sedlo - 1803 m - we're already quite high. Here a young student couple catches me - future dentist and metallurgist - pleasant young conversation partners and we overtook each other a bit throughout the entire traverse. Then ascent to Bogatin - 1977 m and to Mahavšček - 2008 m. Here a slightly larger group catches up with us, but we leave them behind and hurry to Vrh Škrli - 1926. Here our paths separate, because they go back via planina Govnač. I continue. I walk somehow past the summits - Ksera and Planja and arrive at the foot of Tolminski Kuk - 2085 m. It was quite pleasant free climbing, but the little path is skillfully routed over the rocks to the summit. At the summit I bump into a young Englishman. Here obligatory rest and onwards. Now I descend and go somehow past Zeleni vrh, Mali vrh, Podrta gora and Vrh Konte and Škrbina - really majestic tooth to the saddle, where there's a crossroads for both valleys. Here I go left of course and now on a quite long path back to Dom na Komni. This is the area of Spodnja Komna or Snežna konta and I really hit snow. On the right Bohinjski Migovec rises and I walk above planina Za Migovcem. This planina as well as the next planina Govnač have no huts. The planina has a watering trough for livestock. You can see there's livestock here, but I don't see it, because it's probably on planina Govnač. About the Krošnja area - this is somehow the final part of the planina, I head to the marked path directly to Dom na Komni. I bought a new map Julijske Alpe - western part and warmly recommend it to hikers. Luckily it wasn't too hot - we had occasional fog and constant high clouds, little sun. Ideal for such a long tour.

Traverse: Bogatin-Tolminski Kuk Planina Za Migovcem - rainwater catchment visible. I feel the pasture is slowly overgrowing.23
Traverse: Bogatin-Tolminski Kuk All along you walk above the pasture and at the end above the pasture is a signpost to the Komna hut, so no need to cross Govnač pasture.24
Traverse: Bogatin-Tolminski Kuk Soon such a beautiful view of Lake Bohinj opens up.25

We two really have the same tours. A good week ago I ran exactly this tour. The only difference was that I added Vrh nad Škrbino, and I would certainly have added more if the weather hadn't been uncertain. The mentioned ridge is super and beautiful. Komna is as always boring and drags on.

Today with Miho, we went on a 30 km long loop and 9 hours of walking. Started with Vogel - Orlova glava, Podrta gora, Zeleni vrh, Tolminski Kuk, Mahavšček, Bogatin, Komna and down to the valley to Savica. Quite a few hikers, most of whom went on the lower paths to Komna. Of course, there were some on other peaks too. Otherwise, a day suitable for walking, no wind and sometimes some clouds.

On Saturday treasure hunt while crossing the ridge from Bogatin over Mahavšček to Tolminski Kuk, with descent over the unmarked Dolnik plateau. They delighted me on this path with the cairns, which weren't there five years ago when I first climbed here, there was only a modest path that got lost towards the saddle. Dolniki, for me a beautiful, slightly remote world where views attract beautiful grasses, and the wall of peaks from Kuk to Podrta gora, which are incredibly close.
As already written, the treasures on this path hide in rich, wide views, peace and quiet, and also in flowers that still attract gazes.
A path worth repeating!

Yesterday I went to Komna and towards Planina Govnjač, via shortcut through bushes to the grassy flat and to the saddle between Kser and Vrh Škril. The latter was the first goal, then along the marked path to Tolminski Kuk. On the way back I wanted to go on the unmarked path from the saddle, but I started wrong already, namely, in the grass there is a visible path transversely down, which then gets lost. The lower I was, I saw probably the right path up under Kuk, but didn't return, and went my own way through small valleys and found the grassy flat without problems. Otherwise a fantasy day!!!
