Hi, I was yesterday even with the bike. Over Rašica, then down to Šmarna, up Šmarnogorski, then down too. Nice descent, but short, back the same path nasmeh

Today I'm going to check how the current heat affects the mountain ascent.
I park the car in the shade under Turnc and climb up the climbing path to Smarnogorska Grmada, then jump to Smarna Gora. In the shade it was quite bearable with a light breeze absent in the valley. In the sun everyone sweats profusely, though some go up shirtless and are quite fit by build. The view of Ljubljana was steamy haze from the heat. Yesterday until 6h at Smarna G. peak daytime no soul around, today just a handful, fingers of two hands. Quickly due to heat I puff down the north side and via Westrova to gostilna Kovač, couple more min walk to parking. I think in this heat wave and conditions better wait for Saturday cooling jezen

At 10:30 the climbing area was still in the shade

On Šmarna gora there are many free sunbeds

Even such specimens circle in the sky, probably Kanja

Sometimes as kids we'd climb Pogačnikova twice a day afternoon who first to top and run down through Peske, just cuz bored. Should go back sometime see how much changed. Pitons probably changed least mrk pogled

Nice if you have such grateful little hill for recreation nearby

Where to park? In the woods under Turnc supposedly forbidden ... one sign on tree prohibits parking jezen

Park right of ramp, space for 4-5 vehicles. Not directly in front of ramp leave vehicles!. At ramp next to it sign with tel.no. where arrange with owner for parking behind ramp at bigger visit. There wood storage and probably not always even by agreement possible leave car, esp. if storing, preparing or hauling wood.

Since Viharnik made such promo for Turnc, I couldn't resist, of course. Started in style "early hour Slovenian boys' grave" and under Turnc still in the dark so had to wait a bit to find entry - actually the mark shone first nasmeh

Returned via Westrova path, then home for refreshment and to work velik nasmeh

I always park at the completely empty lot by the police academy in deep chestnut shade. True, that adds good 10 min walk each way, but don't bother anyone and no need to call. Last time at damn 30 deg midday crawled Pogačnikova up and down (alone of course to represent us), throat dried out, no gloves cables not even graspable, today can't imagine climbing there.

Today on Pogačnikova close encounter with young viper. We both got scared approximately equally nasmeh

After night of heavy rain morning to Smarna Gora via climbing path where despite steepness water just draining.
Through gorge water from both walls surged and sprayed so got light shower. Through climbing path nice, rocks washed by rain shiny.
Midway glimpse white Stol then fog engulfs all. Over saddle to Smarna Gora not many visitors today. Return via Kovačeva path to gostilna Kovač in Vikrče.

Early showering, otherwise you can't pass through here

There are still plenty of mushrooms on Šmarna.

Along Kovačeva to the inn, partly ritensko climbing, slippery!

Park at paid lot in Vikrče. Then road to Tacen and Pogačnikova path over Grmada to Smarna Gora. Descent path through Peske. Nice autumn day seems last before weather worsens. As always lots of visitors...
