So as not to disturb the current chatter on the Velika Planina topic, I decided to open a new one, plus the search doesn't recognize Rigelj yet. Until the new virus completely chains us to our living rooms, I decided today to visit the neighboring hill. I wasn't expecting super weather, the high mountains were really wrapped in clouds the whole time. Dead silence reigns at the parking lot under the gondola and Kraljev hrib, complete solitude on my path. I leave the car 50m from the road towards Kraljev hrib, where there's also a sign for the path through Dolški graben, where I'll return. Instead of towards the guesthouse, turn right on the gravel road, past the chapel, before the sharp left turn leave it and continue in the same direction (south). The ascent starts when you leave the wild garlic meadows (March, April); higher up there are some obstacles from the ice storm years ago, but they don't pose a big obstacle. The path steepens more and more, higher up we come upon the only junction, keep left. A bit below the summit in the beech forest the path fades a bit, but with a little more attention it shouldn't cause problems. At this time there's also a slight obstacle from thickly deposited beech leaves there, and trekking poles are very useful to us in the steepness. Right before the exit onto the plateau it's good to be a bit louder, as wild boars like to hang out behind the edge. Nice, solitary, wonderful little path. From here I usually extend to Zeleni rob, and via the pastures Konjščica and Dol back to the car.
