Can anyone give more precise tips where to go to V. Lemež from E direction above Krn Lakes - any problems due to damage of the approach route? Any other possible "non-climbing" approach and descent - without going from Čez Potoče (maybe from Zajezerom to peak 1997 m)?

You have a nice approach described on this forum via the saddle Čez Potoče. It is still the same, for descent you can use the variant along military positions, which is also described.

At saddle Čez Potoče there is also spring between Griva and Lemež, where during WWI soldiers went for water. Italians from Griva and Austro-Hungarians from Lemež. Here truce applied.

I remember water also somewhere below the hunting hut on planina Zagreben, near some wooden, barely assembled shelter (koliba), under which there was a bench and tables. From there you went straight up to the hunting hut, to the left a bit higher there was a small path (stečina) towards the saddle between V. Lemež and Vogl. Ugh, about 25 years, if not thirty, ago. That shelter was there during all three "explorations" I did from Lepena up, the last one already vegast. In autumn it'll be time to go peek there again, maybe I'll manage Čez Glavo and Riglje back to the valley (Lepena)

Visible progress! Now he's already started appropriating others' trip descriptions!

Primož, you have exceptionally good taste for your weekend house location. Lepena, or rather the whole Trenta valley is awesome. Enjoy the wonderful Lepena location!

The day before yesterday (9.9.) I did a direct ascent to Lemež from the saddle with Debeljak, descended to saddle Čez potoče and from there up to Srednji vrh. Descended past Krnska škrbina, below Batognica and over Velike peske. The Debeljak - Lemež ridge has its own thread, but since I didn't stick to it exactly, I'll write a short trip description here. Started in Lepena past Dom pri Krnskih jezerih towards Krn, but only to lake start, turned right there. Bypassed lake along the shore and headed to pronounced grassy inlet towards Škrbina saddle. Spent quite a while grinding through that grass, but didn't go to the saddle itself, instead at spruce clump turned left and diagonally left up the grassy tongue. Oriented by spruces on slope and summit photo from last year. When hit trees again, climbed among them to ridge, hardest ascent spots there: steep grass slope nearly vertical for some meters in places. Reached ridge ~200m east of summit, before pronounced gully/couloir south. Didn't continue on ridge, descended into gully and via steep loaded chute back to ridge. Last descent from it, continuation to summit just a stroll - but tricked me with another fore-summit with cairn from that side too . From summit to Čez potoče saddle no big issues, ascent to Srednji vrh not very pleasant. Ledges on east side of Krnčica riddled with hidden basins and huge cracks/sinkholes, path over them slow and dangerous. At Srednji vrh suddenly hit markers, followed past Krnska škrbina under Batognica towards Vrh nad Peski. Bypassed it west side (one trodden path) and from Velike peske finally down to marked to Krnsko jezero. Why the detour? Bird stalking paid off on Peske with pleasant surprise of 30+ snowfinches

Interesting path you devised and made very nice animal shots - not just snowfinches, but also chamois.

Thanks palček. Once pathless corners attract you, new paths open. We study the tour and just go. As long as we can. They leave a special imprint.
