Here, a year has passed since the last entry on this page. Today from Planina Ravne to Veliki vrh, Dleskovec and back via Dolga trata. When ascending to Veliki vrh from the east side, you need to cross some snowfields. The marked path is under snow, so I made my own way to the summit. Descent to the south side is not problematic. The turn-off to Dleskovec is marked with a cairn and it's quite right, as access to the summit is quite difficult elsewhere due to dense bushes. Weather excellent, company too! Lp

Yesterday we were on Veliki vrh, unplanned. Our first goal was Lučki dedec. When returning to Podvežak, we decided for this peak too. We didn't know the path, so of course we missed the left turn-off towards Veliki vrh summit and circled the whole hill to the saddle with Dleskovec and from there ascended to the summit along the marked path. Below the summit there's a very steep snowfield left, better to bypass it without winter gear (feasible). Of course we looked for a shorter way down, but ended up at the summit part of Dleskovec, didn't find the path to Podvežak, so returned the way we came up. Nice in these parts, just a bit long because we didn't know the paths. Next time better.

@vespa the path to Podvežak from Veliki vrh starts on the south side from the saddle between Veliki vrh and Velika zelenica. The path is marked. Best regards!

A few days late post, which I hope won't count as evil, especially since I see there are few descriptions here. Veliki vrh and paths around Korošica haven't given me peace for some time and last weekend it "happened"; peak that rises markedly over 2100m along the path to Korošica, is undemanding, has much less visits than its famous 240m higher neighbor, but no less beautiful and panoramic; there are several approaches, we chose the one described on this forum from Planina Podvežak over Prag; on the summit you can indulge in views that are a feast for the eyes – lower at the foot countless paths intertwine like spider webs towards Korošica, queen Ojstrica looms almost within reach, opposite Tolsti vrh beckons, a bit further in the distance Lučki Dedec and Korošica, below you can see "resting" hikers at the chapel on Molička planina and deep under your feet the view reveals a precipitous descent into Robanov kot, then towards Strelovec and behind Raduha; the path and turn-off are well marked with blazes and continued with numerous cairns, so in pleasant company of a new acquaintance and mountain lover we unerringly and quite quickly "flew" to the summit adorned with a mighty stone cairn, and of course continued along the ridge another 10 min. to Velika Zelenica; on the way back we quenched our thirst with the friendly hut keeper at Planina Podvežak, where there was quite a crowd, mostly returnees from Ojstrica, which was almost besieged like "father" these days; lp

Because it surprises me, since you're close to home and haven't been to VV yet.

When the sky opened behind Kranjski rak, it was easier to breathe too. Start at Planina Ravni(e), road there quite OK. The planina was completely deserted, only a few foals still adorned it. Along the marked path left of the hut to Planina Dolge trate (really enchanting planina). On the planina right along the unmarked but trodden path to Dleskovec to seek views. From Dleskovec then descend following cairns to the connecting marked path towards Korošica. Quite soon new markings lead us right into the slopes of Veliki vrh and Velika Zelenica. From the edge of Velika Zelenica deep view into Robanov kot, to Krofička, and of course Ojstrica dominating in the foreground. From V. Vrh descent first along the ridge ahead, when the comfort of descent ends, then left down. Following cairns (but they are brownish) will bring you effortlessly via a gully back to the marked path from Korošica. At the marked junction right along the slopes of Dleskovec with slight ascent back to Planina Dolge trate and the loop is closed. A bit more and start is here again. Weather held, although at the end mists wanted to brew. Nice tour, nothing too demanding, if you want extensions, there are countless. No one besides us. Just two sheep at the saddle, lost as it seems, but already with new winter wool.

Yesterday a wonderful day on Veliki vrh. From Podvežak pasture to Prag, from there towards Sedlec and to the summit. Descent towards Molička planina and return to Podvežak. The path is nicely marked and maintained, the road to Podvežak in very good condition. Wonderful day in the mountains... Pictures: http://outdoor-culture.blogspot.com/2012/10/veliki-vrh-2114-m.html

No livestock on Doga trata pasture, but I saw a chamois there. On Planina Ravne the owners were in the shepherd's hut, but no livestock seen.

Hi! If anyone has been to Veliki vrh or Velika Zelenica in recent days, I'd appreciate any info.
