Mavrinc, my throne in the middle of the mountains...- The forest has greened, paths are dry and it's nice at the top, as always. Views were just for admiring, there was no proper light for nice photos. nasmeh

The path was a bit muddy and slippery in places, otherwise no problems nasmeh

Through the valley Za Kumlehom our path to High Mavrinc went yesterday. It was my wish for years, so this year already the third time with the same start, but each time to a different summit nasmeh

. Nice at the top as always, autumn colors of the leaves have already taken hold, return via the usual path to the Gozd Hut. Walking on the road to the car didn't suit us, so below the hut we headed to the old Vršič road, which we hadn't walked before, nor knew it existed. It was worth it, although we had to cross streams twice, in between we went to Suha Pišnica and there too enjoyed completely new views. We returned to the road a bit before the starting point and thus nicely rounded and spiced up the ordinary trip nasmeh

Yesterday -Parking at Gozd Hut is icy, road clear. Path through forest partly muddy, little snow and dry towards the top. Last bend is sandy, snow only on the edge. At the top mists were gathering and only momentarily revealing the mountain tops. Nice! nasmeh

Today nice walk in wonderful weather to the nice viewpoint High Mavrinc. Path is well trodden. Road over Vršič pass is normally drivable.

I see the summit has a lot of visits even in winter.

Yesterday we headed to foggy Mavrinc, although we didn't expect fog of course. We said we'd start this time at a lower parking, mark the path past the hunting hut and later join the standard path. Well, we started correctly but stayed too long on the same path, so we walked for quite a while in the gully that you cross higher up on the standard path. It became clear there would be no hunting hut by the gully, so we climbed out left into the slope and caught the path just before the junction. On the return we headed to that path again and followed it correctly past the hut this time. We spiced our path a bit on the return by taking a path that wound in the other direction, so we reached the rocks descending from under Vavovje. Due to fog not much was visible, but we still spotted a chamois, the master of this world.

Then we drove to Vršič and climbed its summit to enjoy the autumn sun and nice views from there. So also some photos from Vršič nasmeh

Fog "chased" us almost to Poštarca too, then we enjoyed the sun at the top (10:45). Almost met nasmeh

yes, at that time we were still on Mavrinc, of course without views. Otherwise it would have been a meeting after many years, right?

On Saturday, first snow test from Koča na Gozdu nasmeh

Along the path about ten cm of soft snow, winter gear not needed, otherwise no special features.

I managed to avoid the biggest mud pits :-)

Špik and Škrlatica absolutely didn't want to be photographed together :-)

With sun in the eyes and wind in the hair on this wonderful viewpoint. Path from Koča na Gozdu almost entirely dry, only just below the summit due to icy path caution needed, especially on descent. At summit not blowing that hard, on ridge much worse. Views breathtaking, observing huge fog wave rolling over Vršič simply fascinating. Another wonderful day with my two little girls where it's most beautiful nasmeh

After the midday descent from Šitna glava we drove to Koča na Gozdu from there to the wonderful viewpoint Visoki Mavrinc. Short tour, but worth a visit.
