As I wrote the first time, there is confusion in naming these two peaks (Rigljica and Rušica) and guidebooks give different data. I crossed the ridge at least 5 times and support Juš's pic.

But 100% sure Rušica is not where it is on your pic, there is Rusa Peč aka Vrh nad Rudo.

...I have to go somewhere to the mountain, among the peaks...Igor's death makes me think...Snow is only on the last bend before the top of Mavrinc..

Today on High Mavrinc from Koča na Gozdu, then detour to Tonkina Koča for coffee and descent back to start. Short but sweet. Path OK.

In winter everything is a bit different. Tracks left and right. I went left, not the best choice. Yesterday it was very nice at the top. Snowshoeing down super. nasmeh

Today from Koča na Gozdu the path is easy to follow. Snow base held weight in the morning, less on return. From saddle to summit firm base. Caution, the ridgelet just below summit full of windblown snow, question how long it will hold.. For descent I put on microspikes and took ice axe, recommend both - for early start - also for ascent from saddle. Weather great, but up top still winter!

Towards Kumlehova glava snow first hard, in the first steep section soft. I did not continue.

Today on High Mavrinc from Koča na Gozdu. Nice viewpoint, path easy to follow even though unmarked.

Koča na Gozdu - High Mavrinc.... Snow is trodden, even the last bend to summit. Vršiška road icy in several places. Curves dangerous as they drive on middle dry part. Views from top wonderful, Mavrinc great viewpoint. nasmeh

Majda, nice hike you did, I wish you such a nice day and views, and you didn't leave us forum visitors empty-handed, nicely presented all peaks and views. Didn't know names of many peaks when observing mountains around from different spots. Keep it up.. nasmeh

The path through the shrubbery is varied, icy and dry. The last bend doesn't have much snow, but it's slippery. Wonderful views from the top. On page 2- there are also peak names created with help from Hribi users... Beautiful days are calling into nature.. nasmeh

Today a nice morning walk to the nice viewpoint-High Mavrinc, which offers wonderful views. The path is not marked, but well trodden. Nice mountaineer's greeting.

part of the path also runs along the Planica-Pokljuka path.

High Mavrinc, yesterday...There's quite some snow through the forest, which melts quickly in the sun rays and the paths are wet. Beeches are already decorated with beautiful colors. Some trees are broken, but passages are cleared. I met a friendly young man, maybe you know him and I was glad to see him. Mists were chasing around the peaks at the top. I had time and waited for the show of discovering magnificent mountains to begin. I always feel good on this mountain.. nasmeh

Even though I've climbed the path from Gozd direction to High Mavrinc or Špica in Sedelci several times, orientation in untouched snow would certainly "extend" my route a bit. But since this viewpoint gets frequent visits even in winter conditions, yesterday there were no problems with the right direction. I was at the top just in time to observe the colorful art of clay burning masters in the edges of our giants across Pišnica nasmeh

and descended towards Gozd before sunset.

The snow on the path was relatively firm and (mostly) didn't break through, so small crampons were a good choice for easier walking, especially on the steep descent, otherwise in the higher part of the path, below and on the ridge, there is also some dry ground. Just below the summit the path is exposed, so in the morning hours when the snow can still be a bit harder, an ice axe wouldn't be out of place, even if just for those few meters.

The snow on the path is wind-packed, hard in places.

Yesterday to the beautiful viewpoint, which lacked a bit of sun, well at least in the morning it was like that. A bit below the top there was a little to watch out for, but no gear was used. Since we were interested in the snow deposits by the road, we then drove to Vršič, where we couldn't believe our eyes. Nice and interesting!
