Washing mountaineering clothes

I don't know, because then I'd have to do that daily, but instead I just rinse the stuff and then every quarter I wash them with powder too. I don't use softener even with regular rags. My skin doesn't tolerate it too well. I add a bit of vinegar, and that's it.

And that's exactly how it was washed. And the washerwomen probably had no problems with various Gore tex Schoeller Polartec etc . And that's how people went to the mountains. Nice times without unnecessary problems, without which today you can't go.

@bostjanp : yes, I dry goretex completely in the dryer, first on the line to drain and partially dry, then in the dryer to renew the impregnation. could also iron it, effect should be the same. That's what it says on the label and it works.

@mancar: when I read this it seems to me that I've heard this about the dryer and gtx somewhere before. but this drying in the dryer isn't on full, right, but in my opinion on low temperature or medium? because if on full, I think gtx would burn. guessing.

The Gore-tex fabric doesn't burn because the seams are welded with heat-sealing tape at high temperature, so it sticks like that, no fear of the dryer. LP and have a nice day!

this is also relative, some have glued seams, others don't. like with all gear you have goretex and "the Gore-tex" with various derivatives... www.gore-tex.com

Because softener reduces the activity of absorbing and wicking sweat. Goretex then "loses" waterproofness.

LG why did you delete the post I replied to again? You're not serious. First you post a question, then delete it when you get an answer.

LG is like Chuck Norris, answers it himself even before asking the question . He is one such special forum star, without him the forum would be just a forum .

Lolek from the mountains mixing nonsense again I see. "Without him the forum would be just a forum." - and that's what some want. Clear forum without nonsense and extremely useless contents, and constant pretending of the above-mentioned subject. If he can't handle that much self-control, maybe admins should take the reins?

I think washing mountaineering clothes in a regular washing machine is dangerous for the machine. In my opinion you need a public laundry. In Ljubljana I only know http://pranje.si/
