Drove a bit higher on poor road where now detour in Jelendol runs. Up steep slope to Bela peč-Veliki Javornik. Found two chanterelles too, but brought back more seed in boots than weight of chanterelles. Mushroom pickers plenty too.

Yesterday's ascent required quite some energy even on skis, since the snow below was completely wet, higher towards the top a bit less. But it was a day where spruce beauties were in the foreground before the lens...

Sunny Sunday for a great tour to Ženiklovec. The guide is not a dwarf but a handsome man and eight Snow Whites, six of us first time. From Grahovše past the farm, a bit on the road, a bit in the forest. At Planina Javornik it was snowy, skiing still possible. Views were super, the whole Košuta ridge, Kozji vrh, the main ones Storžič and Tolsti vrh. On one side Triglav, on the other also Peča. On the return also to Damjan at Zdravc.... nice spots

We ended the penultimate month of the year with a ski touring hike to Veliki Javornik. We drove high up the hill by car, then on skis all the way to the top on the already made track. Skiing excellent on sufficiently high snow cover. More at: https://www.gore-ljudje.si/Kategorije/Novosti/veliki-javornik-1

Fixed photo name: 2021.11.30.10 Gabrčev rovt. I assume the hill behind it is V. Javornik (according to the hiking map). Since I'm not from these parts, unfortunately I don't know the details.

Today from Grahovše to Veliki Javornik. Past Rekar. On the path: ice, snow, wet parts. At the top two arrived behind us, on the return an older gentleman on a sled overtook us, and that was all. Below planina Javornik firm snow starts, plenty of it to the top. In places in the last part it sank quite deep, mostly though it was very pleasant for walking. The sun shone on us too. Ženiklovec is a wonderful viewpoint in all directions. Good luck and stay safe everyone. nasmeh

Yesterday on the path home - Bela peč - Planina Javornik - Javorniški sedlo - home no deep snow anywhere. But partly ice, partly bare, partly snow that doesn't sink or sinks only a little. Crampons needed.

I didn't think a week ago, when we were at Bela peč and then crossed Planina Javornik, that we'd be back here so soon.
But it often happens that thoughts pull you to the same area you were last time, and the decision was made to go to Ženiklovec this time. Partly to repeat the ascent from years ago, partly the desire to walk in fresh snow. Snow hikes are always something good!

We started walking a bit below the Rekar homestead, marveled at the really beautiful world around there, continued on the marked path to planina Javornik, then steeply up to our goal. The weather was completely sunny, though clouds were gathering on the peaks, but they couldn't take away the mighty view from the top. Košuta, Peca, Olševa, Virnikov Grintovec, Kočna to Rinka, Storžič, Tolsti vrh, and even Julijci in the distance. But if you zoom them in a bit, they can feel really close too.
There weren't many hikers on the whole path, hardly any. They come to Pl. Javornik, but not everyone decides for the ascent to V. Javornik. So we shared the summit with just one, and even that only briefly. At home we realized there's still some unexplored nearby, so we'll definitely return here at least once more!

When high peaks are in clouds, you need to choose a lower summit. So we went to the Bela peč viewpoint and to the Ženiklovec summit. Most of the path we did on a forest road and enjoyed the autumn colors as well as the power of springs and streams rumbling everywhere. To Ženiklovec, windy, on the planina it started raining and I waited under shelter. Then after the rain went to the top and descended another path.
