Access to starting point:
From the highway Ljubljana - Jesenice we take the exit Lesce and follow the road towards Bled and then towards Bohinjska Bistrica. In Bohinjska Bistrica we turn onto Ajdovska cesta and follow it past the church to the railway station, where we park.
Route description:
For a few minutes we follow the path by the railway track in the direction of Bled. When on the opposite side of the track we notice birches, we carefully cross the track and start ascending towards Ajdovski gradec. When the path after a few steps becomes steep, we follow it to the left. After about 10 minutes of additional walking, we reach the top.

Today we were on this hill. Pity the path is not better arranged and the summit itself. The path is very overgrown and also at the top. Such a historical site could be better maintained. We adjusted the path start differently. No need to go along the railway and over it, but the path/road runs along the railway via underpass. You arrive on the other side where this path is described.

On Saturday, 13.4.2024, I was at Ajdovski gradec with a 3-year-old. Pleasant walk, a bit uphill through the forest, when you're in Bohinj/at Bistrica, you wouldn't exactly walk flat, nor drive far to get into the forest: https://hribovanja.blogspot.com/2024/04/ajdovski-gradec-580-m-1342024.html?m=1
The path seems tidy and marked - but it's really April and it might overgrow later. The path goes past Lipp pohištva and Venturie.
