Description of mountain:
Ajdovski gradec is a smaller hill on the eastern side of Bohinjska Bistrica, rising right above the Sava Bohinjka River. Access is possible from Bohinjska Bistrica and the village of Bitenj.
The summit is partly forested, with views opening only to the chain of the Lower Bohinj Mountains from Črna prst to the west, Dobrava, and part of Bohinjska Bistrica, where the Church of St. Nicholas stands out.
At the top, there are benches with a table, an information board about archaeological sites from the Iron Age and Roman times, and plaques with verses from France Prešeren's epic-lyrical poem Krst pri Savici (which mentions Ajdovski gradec).
Due to lush vegetation, visiting is most recommended in spring and late autumn.
