Path description:
From the parking lot, we walk to the road which continues north from the church and further leads along the Brezniški potok. Along the Brezniški potok we ascend for approximately one hour, then arrive at a marked crossroad, where we continue straight towards Kapla (left Remšnik). A few dozen meters further, we veer slightly right onto a road that ascends diagonally across the slope (straight one of the paths towards Sveti Pankracij). A little further, we leave the forest, and the path leads us past a few houses. Signs for Kapla then direct us left from the road, where we cut through the forest along a marked cart track, shortening a longer left turn. After a few minutes, we return to the road and follow it left to a nearby fork, where we choose the lower left path (slightly right the homestead Renat Pušnik-Pečnik). This path leads through a strip of forest, and after leaving the forest, we pass a solitary farm, continuing with beautiful views to a marked junction by a chapel.
We continue right towards Kapla (straight Sveti Pankracij), initially crossing a scenic slope before the poorer road enters the forest. When the road stops ascending, blazes guide us slightly right onto a cart track that descends moderately at first, then more steeply lower down, making two hairpin turns. When the path levels out, we pass two houses and reach the valley of the stream Potočnikov potok, where we turn left. Along the asphalt road, we gently ascend past a few houses, then blazes direct us right, where we climb onto a cart track near a house, ascending alongside a torrential stream. After a few minutes of climbing beside the stream, the marked path turns left and ascends diagonally to a macadam road, which we follow to the right. The road soon leaves the forest and leads us over grassy slopes past a nearby farm. Higher up, grassy and forested areas alternate, and the path takes us past several farms. At crossroads, we follow the blazes.
After the farm Kašman-Kogal, we veer slightly right onto a side road, where the blazes continue. After a short ascent, we reach a small saddle, where the marked path towards Zgornja Kapla continues straight and begins descending. We, however, proceed slightly right along the road, which continues ascending and is briefly unmarked.
We soon reach a point where the marked path Zgornja Kapla - Sršenov vrh crosses the road we are on. We turn right and continue along the marked path. After a few minutes, we return to the asphalt road and follow it to the right, along which we go past the homestead Pokržnik, and after the homestead on the left (eastern) side we cross Pokržnikov vrh also, from where a view opens up towards the transmitters on Sršenov vrh. There follows some easy descent and on the right side a nice view opens up, which reaches to Koroška two-thousanders, and in good visibility we can see even further.
On the mentioned panoramic part, the path stops descending and then lightly ascends to the forest, where signs for Sršenov vrh point us left into the forest. There follows a shorter steeper ascent through quite dense forest, higher we reach a cart track and follow it to the right. The cart track quickly brings us to the next asphalt road, which we cross diagonally to the right, then we go slightly left into the forest, through which we continue on the marked path. A little higher, at a smaller crossroad we reach another road, and we go left onto the upper road, from which after a few steps we go right. There follows only a shorter moderate ascent and we arrive at the transmitters on Sršenov vrh.
