Path description:
From the parking lot, we walk to the road which continues north from the church and further leads along the stream Brezniški potok. By the stream Brezniški potok we ascend for approximately one hour, then arrive at a marked crossroad, where we continue straight towards Kapla (left Remšnik). A few dozen meters further, we veer slightly right onto a road that ascends diagonally across the slope (straight one of the paths towards Sveti Pankracij). A little further, we leave the forest, and the path leads us past a few houses. Signs for Kapla then direct us left from the road, where we cut through the forest along a marked cart track, shortening a longer left turn. After a few minutes, we return to the road and follow it left to a nearby fork, where we choose the lower left path (slightly right the homestead Renat Pušnik-Pečnik). This path leads through a strip of forest, and after leaving the forest, we pass a solitary farm, continuing with beautiful views to a marked junction by a chapel.
We continue right towards Kapla (straight Sveti Pankracij), initially crossing a scenic slope before the poorer road enters the forest. When the road stops ascending, blazes guide us slightly right onto a cart track that descends moderately at first, then more steeply lower down, making two hairpin turns. When the path levels out, we pass two houses and reach the valley of the stream Potočnikov potok, where we turn left. Along the asphalt road, we gently ascend past a few houses, then blazes direct us right, where we climb onto a cart track near a house, ascending alongside a torrential stream. After a few minutes of climbing beside the stream, the marked path turns left and ascends diagonally to a macadam road, which we follow to the right. The road soon leaves the forest and leads us over grassy slopes past a nearby farm. Higher up, grassy and forested areas alternate, and the path takes us past several farms. At crossroads, we follow the blazes.
After the farm Kašman-Kogal, we veer slightly right onto a side road, where the blazes continue. After a short ascent, we reach a small saddle, where a road branches off to the right, leading further to Sršenov vrh, while we continue straight and begin descending on a macadam road. Lower down, we pass a junction with a marked path to Sršenov vrh, and a bit further down, we return to an asphalt road, which quickly brings us near the church of St. Katarina in Zgornja Kapla.
When we leave the main road, we easily ascend along an asphalt path to the church, from which a beautiful view of Kozjak opens up.
