Gojače - Školj Svetega Pavla above Vrtovin (via water tower)

Access to starting point:
From highway Nova Gorica - Razdrto we go to the exit Selo, and then we continue driving on the parallel old road towards Ajdovščina. At the end of the settlement Selo we turn left and through a bridge over the highway we drive to the nearby industrial area. Here we continue straight, and then we get to a crossroad in Gojače, where we again continue straight. Further, we drive past the cemetery, after which we continue slightly right, and then at the next crossroad, which is situated only a little further from the nearby church, again slightly right. The road then ascends a little steeper and past last houses in the village brings us to the hunting cottage LD Čaven (Gojače). We park on a macadam parking lot near the hunting cottage.

Path description:
From the parking lot, we continue on a meadow (meadow which continues from the parking lot), and after few 10 meters on the right side we notice a gently sloping cart track which turns to the right. We go on the mentioned cart track which continues through bushes and which soon brings us to the first unmarked crossing. We continue on a slightly right cart track which only a little further crosses a grazing fence and behind it, for some time turns to the left. Cart track then passes into the forest and gradually starts ascending diagonally towards the right. Higher, we cross a distinct gully of Gojiški potok and from the gully we walk on the cart track only few 10 meters and then we continue slightly left on an easy to follow footpath which starts moderately ascending. Only a little higher we cross a grazing fence, and further we are ascending through a gentle grassy slope. When the path returns into the forest, it turns to the right and only a little further joins a better beaten path from Vrtovin.
Here we continue left in the direction of Sveti Pavel (if we continue straight we will after 10 meters come to the water tower) and we continue the ascent on a quite steep path, where at one point we also get help from a steel cable. Higher, the path flattens and out of the forest it brings us by the upper edge of precipitous cliffs. On the wide path, we are ascending by the edge of a smaller precipice, and then we get to a crossing, where the path branches off to the left towards the nearby vantage point. Here we continue straight and after 3 minutes of additional walking, we walk to the church of St. Pavel.
