Idrija - Koča na Hleviški planini (via Kodrov rovt)

Access to starting point:
A) First, we drive to Logatec, and then we continue driving towards Idrija. When we get to Idrija we need to pay attention, because at the main crossroad we will leave the main road which leads towards Tolmin and we will turn left towards the center of the town. We can park to the left of the main bus station, or on the parking lot above the bus station – above the Spar store.
B) From Most na Soči or Podbrdo we drive to Bača pri Modreju, and then we continue driving towards Idrija. When we get to Idrija we need to pay attention, because at the main crossroad we will leave the main road which leads towards Logatec and we will turn right towards the center of the town. We can park to the left of the main bus station, or on the parking lot above the bus station – above the Spar store.

Route description:
From the bus station we go past the Spar store through the center of Idrija. At the first intersection we keep right across Mestni trg and reach the bridge over the Nikova stream, below Geverkeneeg Castle. The path leads us across the bridge and after 20 m we turn right into the slope. Soon we are at the chapel and again keep right, along the steep road. After 200 m we reach the Idrija – Vojsko road, which we cross and again a steep narrower road is in front of us, along which we quickly ascend above Idrija. At the last houses of Čopičeva ulica (water reservoir) a beautiful view of the city center opens up. The asphalt road later turns into a cart track, along which we ascend to the forest road. We are at Pringlu (small chapel) where there is a junction of several paths: the left one leads us via Pšenk to Hleviše, but we go right, where two marked SPP paths towards Hlevišam are. After a few meters we notice directional signs above the road and go along the forest road, which gradually rises. When snow falls, a sledding track is arranged along this road. We follow the road that leads through the forest to the turning point, where we turn right along the marked path along the forest skid trail. We continue along the trail, which rises more steeply along the overgrown ridge and reach the indistinct peak Kodrov rovt, from which a short descent follows to the turning point of the forest road, which we cross and go along the ridge through the forest. We reach the forest skid trail, where we keep right, a little downhill and reach the forest road, where we turn left. After 100 m we turn right and are at the parking lot below Koča na Hleviški planini (from the left the marked Lovska pot joins us). The path leads us uphill along the road, which is closed to public traffic. The road soon takes us through the forest to the meadow below the hut, where there are playgrounds for younger visitors on the left side.
From the hut we can continue along the steep trail to the top of Hleviška planina and after 10 minutes reach the summit (908 m).
