Koča na Hleviški planini

Description of hut:
The Koča na Hleviški planini stands on a pleasant clearing at an altitude of 815 meters, just below the 908-meter peak of Hleviška planina itself. The hut provides 29 beds for overnight stays in rooms and on a shared sleeping platform. Thanks to its location in the idyllic setting of the Idrija hills and its immediate proximity to the Zgornja Idrijca Landscape Park, the hut is an extremely popular excursion destination for both locals and visitors from farther afield.
The lodge serves as an important checkpoint on the Slovenian Mountain Trail. From the hut there is a fine, open view mainly toward the southeast, while forest obscures the outlook in the other directions. Those seeking a broader panorama will find it worthwhile to continue to the summit of Hleviška planina via a short but steep path that takes about ten minutes.
Because several trails intersect here, the hut is a lively meeting point for hikers, mountain bikers and runners; in addition to the main transversal, the Idrija-Cerklje Mountain Trail and the Slovenian Mountain Bike Trail also pass by. The surroundings are neatly maintained and family-friendly, with playground equipment placed on the meadow below the building for younger visitors.
The box containing the visitors’ book and stamps is located on the outer wall of the woodshed immediately behind the hut.
