Access to starting point:
A) First, we drive to Luče (to here from Kamnik over mountain pass Volovjek (Kranjski Rak) or from Štajerska highway and past Mozirje and through Ljubno ob Savinji), and then we continue driving in the direction of Logarska dolina. When we get to Solčava, we leave the main road and continue driving right towards Črna na Koroškem. Further, we drive on an ascending road, which we follow at the crossroads in the direction of Črna na Koroškem and mountain pass Spodnje Sleme. From the mountain pass onwards, the road starts descending, and we follow it to the spot where we join the road Črna na Koroškem - Koprivna. Here we continue left, and then at the next crossroad approximately 1 km ahead, right towards the mountain hut on farm Kumer. Further, we ascend alongside the stream Koprivna, and we follow the road to a crossroad, where the road branches off sharply to the left towards the earlier mentioned mountain hut, straight ahead the road continues towards the mountain pasture Luža, and to the right a marked path branches off to Peca (the latter at first runs on the road as well). We park in an appropriate place by the road.
B) From Koroška, we first drive to Črna na Koroškem, and then we continue driving towards Podpeca and Koprivna. At the crossroad where a road towards Podpeca branches off to the right, we continue slightly left, and also at the next crossroad where a road branches off to the right into Topla valley. Further, we still drive for some time by the river Meža, and then we first get to a crossroad where a road branches off to the left towards the mountain pass Spodnje Sleme and further towards Logarska dolina. Here we continue straight, and then at the next crossroad approximately 1 km ahead, right towards the mountain hut on farm Kumer.
C) First, we drive to Šoštanj, and then we continue driving on a winding road towards Črna na Koroškem. In Črna na Koroškem, we continue left in the direction of Podpeca and Koprivna.
Path description:
From the starting point, we continue straight, that is on the road which ascends parallel to the nearby stream. The path ahead leads us past Žegnan studenec and a little higher past the turn-off of the cart track to St. Ana. Higher, the road makes a sharp left turn, beside which there are information boards, and right at this spot we leave it and continue straight on a worse road, which only a little further crosses the state border. When we enter Austria, we continue for a short time on the worse road, then we join a wider macadam road, on which we walk in a few minutes to the central part of mountain pasture Luža.
From the shepherd hut, we walk to the second part of the mountain pasture, and there at the crossroad we continue right in the direction of Peca (slightly left Železna Kapla / Bad Eisenkappel and Topica / Topitza). We continue the ascent on the macadam road which gently to moderately ascends along the edge of the mountain pasture. After approximately 15 minutes of further walking, we will notice on the left side of the road the mountain signposts for Peca, which direct us sharply left onto an ascending cart track. The mentioned cart track brings us quickly in a traverse ascent to the newly built forest road, which we follow to the left. After some 10 m of walking on the mentioned road, we turn right onto an ascending cart track, on which we ascend through the spruce forest. After approximately 1 hour of walking from the starting point, we step again onto a macadam road, on which in a few steps we ascend to mountain pasture Zgornja Luža.
From the mountain pasture, we continue on the marked path (initially still on the road) in the direction of Peca. After some 10 steps, the road turns right, and we continue left on the footpath, which starts to ascend moderately through the forest. The path gradually starts to ascend more steeply, and higher it brings us out of the forest onto slopes covered with dwarf pines. Further, we ascend on increasingly panoramic slopes of Peca, on the path which after some time brings us to the main ridge, where we also arrive at a junction.
We continue sharply left (right Bistriška špica and Kordeževa glava) on the marked path in the direction of "Globasnitz". The path ahead descends slightly, then brings us in a moderate ascent to an indistinct summit, from which a wonderful view opens up onto Dravska dolina.
