Kraljev dol - Ojstrica (via Kocbekov dom)

Access to starting point:
A) First, we drive to Kamnik, then continue driving towards Stahovica and the Črnivec pass. A few hundred meters before the Črnivec pass we leave the main road which leads towards Gornji Grad and continue driving sharply left in the direction of the Volovljek pass (Kranjski Rak). From the mentioned pass we continue straight (left road which leads to Velika planina, right Štajerski Rak) and start descending towards Luče. Lower down the road flattens a little and brings us into the Podvolovljek valley. Further we first drive past the turn-off of the road which leads into the Lučka Bela valley, then also past the bar pri Gamsu. After the bar, we need to pay attention, because only a few hundred meters further a road which leads towards the mountain pasture Podvežak and Ravne and farm Planinšek branches off to the left (by the spot where we leave the main road there is a road sign approximately 11 km). Further, we drive on the initially still asphalt road which then ascends towards the Dleskovška planota plateau. Higher, the road towards Planinšek branches off to the right, and here we continue on the left upper road, which a little further brings us to the next intersection, where we continue straight in the direction of the mountain pasture Ravne (left mountain pasture Podvežak). After 9 km of driving from the main road (of which 8 km macadam) we will arrive at the sharp right turn in the middle of which a road branches off to the left, which is already at the very beginning closed with a grazing fence. We head onto the mentioned road, which we then follow to the turning point at the end of the road. We park in an appropriate place at the end of the road.
B) First, we drive to Luče, then continue driving towards Kamnik. When by the road we notice the road sign which shows 10.5 km, we need to pay attention to the right turn-off, because only a little further to the right the road towards the mountain pasture Podvežak and Ravne and farm Planinšek branches off. Further, we drive on the initially still asphalt road which then ascends towards the Dleskovška planota plateau. Higher, the road towards Planinšek branches off to the right, and here we continue on the left upper road, which a little further brings us to the next intersection, where we continue straight in the direction of the mountain pasture Ravne (left mountain pasture Podvežak). After 9 km of driving from the main road (of which 8 km macadam) we will arrive at the sharp right turn in the middle of which a road branches off to the left, which is already at the very beginning closed with a grazing fence. We head onto the mentioned road, which we then follow to the turning point at the end of the road. We park in an appropriate place at the end of the road.

Path description:
From the end of the road, we cross the fence and then immediately after it continue right next to it steeply upwards. The path soon goes into the forest, where it steeply ascends for some time, then gradually flattens. There follows a few-minute walk through increasingly sparse forest and a relatively gentle path quickly brings us to the ruined shepherd's hut on the Vodole mountain pasture.
From the ruined shepherd's hut we continue along the bottom of the mountain pasture on the path which leads us past a smaller marsh. On the other side of the mountain pasture the path starts to ascend slightly and after a few minutes of further walking brings us to a boulder on which we notice already quite faded signs for Korošica, which direct us slightly right onto the path that goes into the forest and gradually starts to ascend more steeply. The considerably overgrown path which runs through dwarf pines higher joins a much wider path which comes from the Podvežak mountain pasture.
We continue in the direction of Korošica on the path which crosses the grazing fence and after a few further steps brings us to the Inkretov studenec, which is located just a few meters from the path.
There follows only a slight ascent, then the path flattens again and brings us below the relatively steep and in snow avalanche-prone slopes of Tolsti vrh. A little further the pleasant path brings us to a marked junction, where we continue slightly left in the direction of Korošica (slightly right chapel on Molička peč (mountain pasture)). The path ahead crosses the slopes below Tolsti vrh for some time more, then transitions to the plateau-like terrain of the Dleskovška planota, which is criss-crossed with numerous sinkholes and caves. The path, continuing with some shorter ascents and descents, then quickly brings us to a junction where the path from Robanov kot and the Ravne mountain pasture joins from the right.
We continue in the direction of Korošica on the path which ascends transversely to the saddle between the less known Koroški vrh on the left and Mala Ojstrica on the right. We continue straight down (left Prag, right Ojstrica via Mala Ojstrica) on the marked path which starts descending towards Korošica. After a few minutes of descent we step onto the extensive grassy slopes of Korošica, across which we then walk to the mountain hut in a few minutes.
From Kocbekov dom we continue on the marked path in the direction of Ojstrica. The path already a few meters above the hut enters the belt of dwarf pines, where it gradually starts ascending ever more steeply. After a good 20 minutes of ascent from Kocbekov dom the path flattens, and it transitions to grassy slopes which are soon replaced by scree. The path ahead crosses two successive gullies, then starts ascending more steeply on the increasingly panoramic slope. The path ahead leads us past two less noticeable junctions (in both cases we continue right in the direction of Ojstrica, left Planjava and Škarje) and gradually starts turning further to the right. Higher the path becomes even steeper and transitions to a quite scree-covered slope. Further the path flattens briefly and brings us through a narrower passage onto the main ridge of the Kamniško-Savinjske Alpe. When we step onto the ridge we continue right on a very steep path which further ascends rugged rocky terrain. We follow this very steep path, aided by a few pegs, all the way to the summit of Ojstrica, which we reach after approximately 15 minutes of further walking (in the final section there is a great danger of falling rocks).
