Krvavi kamen - Trdinov vrh

Access to starting point:
From Novo Mesto or Otočec, we drive to the village of Velike Brusnice. We then follow the road towards the village of Gabrje. When the road almost brings us to the village, we reach a junction where we continue left (right to Gabrje center). The road then leads us past the church onwards towards Gorjanci. We follow the road to a junction where the road branches left to Miklavž, right to Gospodična and straight ahead along the border forest road. Near this junction we park in the parking lot by the road.
From Metlika we drive towards Novo Mesto, but only to the Vahta pass. Here we turn right and follow the forest road for approximately 11 km to a junction where the road branches left downhill to Gabrje, straight to Miklavž and right to the border forest road. Near this junction we park in the parking lot by the road.

Path description:
From the parking lot we continue along the road in the direction of Trdinov vrh. After a few tens of meters of walking, to the right (in front of the hut we see by the road) a hiking trail branches off across the meadow into the forest. The trail is initially gentle but soon begins to ascend moderately. After a few minutes of walking we join the trail that comes from Sveti Miklavž. The trail then ascends for some time along a cart track which soon turns into a hiking trail. This one begins to ascend more steeply through the primeval forest Gorjanci. Further the trail leads us out of the forest onto a forest road along which the state border runs. We continue straight past the transmitter and past the chapel to the top where we notice the viewpoint platform.
