Mače - Srednji vrh (Mačenska pot and via Dolga njiva)

Access to starting point:
A) From the highway Ljubljana - Jesenice, take the exit Kranj - east, then continue driving in the direction of Jezersko. When we arrive in Preddvor, leave the main road and continue driving left towards the center of the mentioned settlement, from there follow the signs for Mače. When we arrive in Mače, at the marked intersection continue right (left Bašelj, straight church of St. Miklavž (church isn't accessible by car)) and drive on a narrow road above the village, where there is a larger marked parking lot.
B) From the highway Jesenice - Ljubljana, take the exit Kranj - west and at the first intersection continue left. Then drive through the underpass under the highway, after which we arrive at a roundabout, from which continue driving in the direction of Golnik. The route continues through the settlement Mlaka pri Kranju, but at the end of the settlement continue right in the direction of the settlement Srakovlje. This is followed by driving through Srakovlje, Spodnja Bela, Srednja Bela to Zgornja Bela, where continue right towards Preddvor. In Preddvor notice the signs for Mače, which direct us left past the primary school onto a road that climbs to Mače. When we arrive in Mače, at the marked intersection continue right (left Bašelj, straight church of St. Miklavž (church isn't accessible by car)) and drive on a narrow road above the village, where there is a larger marked parking lot.

Path description:
At the end of the parking lot, we will notice blazes that direct us onto a wide cart track, which initially ascends gently. The cart track has some smaller junctions at the beginning, but we keep slightly to the right and continue along the marked path all the time. Higher up, the cart track ascends more steeply a few times for short stretches, then brings us to signposts, where we continue left in the direction of Hudičev boršt.
At the signposts, we leave the cart track and continue the ascent along a marked footpath that begins to ascend more and more steeply through increasingly dense forest. Higher up, the forest thins out, and the path leads us out of the forest onto increasingly panoramic grassy slopes of Zaplata, where we can already see Hudičev boršt ahead. Here the path ascends steeply once more, then joins the path sv. Jakob - Kališče. Here we continue left in the direction of Kališče and Srednji vrh (right shelter in Hudičev boršt 3 minutes) along the path that crosses the grassy slopes of Zaplata to the west. After a few minutes of traversing, the path enters the forest, where we soon reach the next marked junction.
This time we continue right in the direction of Cjanovce, Srednji vrh and Mali Grintovec along the path that begins to ascend more steeply through the forest. The fairly steep path then leads us higher into a small valley, where the forest thins out and the path levels off. After a few minutes of walking through this small valley, the path turns right, ascends more steeply and after a short ascent brings us to the hut on Dolga njiva.
From the hut on Dolga njiva we continue straight in the direction of Cjanovce and Srednji vrh (left Mali Grintovec, right pathless route to Hudičev boršt) along the path that first climbs over a grassy slope then passes into a belt of dwarf pines, where it continues along a wide clearing. The path, ascending transversely towards the east, then leads us higher to a less obvious junction, where the path from the summit of Cjanovce joins from the right. Here we continue left and after a few more steps we step onto the main ridge of Srednji vrh, which we follow left. We continue the ascent along a panoramic path that after a few more minutes of walking brings us to Srednji vrh.
