Nova Gorica (Hotel Perla) - Škabrijel (direct path)

Access to starting point:
A) From the Razdrto-Nova Gorica highway we head towards Nova Gorica in the direction of the center and park in the parking lot on Kidričeva cesta in front of Hotel Perla.
B) From the direction of Italy we also head towards the center of Nova Gorica.
C) From the directions of Bovec and Tolmin we head towards the center of Nova Gorica to the parking lot in front of Hotel Perla.

Path description:
From the parking lot on Kidričeva in front of Hotel Perla we cross the intersection of Vojkova cesta and past the church and police station continue past the settlement of a few houses to the traffic-light intersection below Vetrišče on the bypass road. We cross the intersection in the direction of Vetrišče and after 50 m turn left uphill towards Škabrijel.
We continue among vineyards and the settlement Varda and follow the signs. When we get to the asphalt path to Kekec we cross it and continue approx. 50 m and turn left onto the uphill footpath and continue to the macadam cart track, where we turn left along the track to the asphalt road coming from the direction of Kekec, where we turn right towards the summit of Škabrijel. After 15 minutes of walking the asphalt ends and the signs for Škabrijel direct us to the left.
Here there is a bench and a tap with drinking water from the spring. The macadam road quickly leads us to the next intersection. We continue right uphill (straight - Sveta Gora and Prevala) on an increasingly poor cart track, from which after a few minutes immediately after the right turn a marked footpath branches off to the left. A pleasant path, which only in heavy rain can be muddy, is a military mule track and on a smaller section quite steep, brings us to the top of Škabrijel.
The entire path runs through the forest and is suitable also for sunny and hot days.
