Oplotnica - Rogla

Access to starting point:
A) From the highway Ljubljana - Maribor, take the exit Slovenske Konjice, then follow the signs for Slovenske Konjice. From the roundabout to the OMV gas station, turn right at the first exit towards Slovenska Bistrica, drive towards Slovenska Bistrica to the turn-off of the road to the left towards Oplotnica and Osankarica. Turn towards Oplotnica and drive along the road to the center of the settlement, where we park on one of the many parking lots in the settlement.
B) From the highway Maribor - Ljubljana, take the exit Slovenska Bistrica - south, then follow the signs for Slovenske Konjice. Soon after Slovenska Bistrica, turn right in the direction of Oplotnica, then drive to the center of Oplotnica, where we park on one of the many parking lots in the settlement.

Path description:
From the center of the settlement, we head on the path towards Rogla and Pesek, initially walking along the left bank of the Oplotnica. Soon we cross Oplotnica over a bridge, and after the bridge, we go right. When the dense part of the settlement ends, we begin to ascend more steeply on the asphalt road, which after a cross enters the forest. When the road in the forest turns sharply to the left, we continue straight on the marked path that ascends above the side road. Further on, we ascend transversely to the right, the marked path becoming increasingly overgrown and during the vegetation period practically impassable, so we must seek passages left or right of the marked path. Higher up, we keep somewhat more to the left and after a few minutes reach the asphalt road, which we follow right uphill to the start of the settlement Koritno. The road quickly brings us to a smaller crossroad from which we continue slightly left towards Javornik-Kavzeki (right leads the drivable road to the center of the settlement Koritno and Božje). Further on, we go past a few houses, before the last house we go slightly right onto the cart track that ascends across the meadow, from which a nice view opens towards Boč on looking back. A few minutes further, we reach the first house of the central part of the settlement Koritno, about 100 meters further some other houses, where we follow the blazes. When we are already below the church of sv. Miklavž, we go slightly right onto the cart track, along which we ascend to the nearby church.
We bypass the church on the left side and reach the asphalt road, which we follow to the left. The path ahead leads us across the pasture, from which a view opens towards the church of sv. Lenart, which is located somewhat higher. At the end of the pasture, the road returns to the forest and ascends in two hairpins to the church of sv. Lenart, which we notice left of the road, at the nearby farm.
Opposite the church, we go right onto the marked footpath that enters the forest, in the forest at the unmarked junction we go slightly left (the straight path is not marked and a little further enters a steeper slope), where we follow the blazes. Some more ascent follows, then the path first levels out, then descends to the nearby cart track, along which we return to the asphalt road. The path ahead still leads us between some fields, then we arrive at the settlement Božje. In the middle of the settlement, at the chapel, we continue sharply left, above the settlement we arrive at the marked crossroad.
We continue straight towards Rogla and Pesek (left Gorenje pri Zrečah, right Jurgovo) and continue walking along the macadam road, which ascends gently to moderately. We follow the marked road to the junction with a somewhat wider road, where we go right. A few minutes further, we leave the forest and behind the cross, which we notice on the right, a nice view opens on the left side. When we return to the edge of the forest, we go straight from the crossroad onto the marked footpath, which continues along the cart track. At the entrance to the forest, we go right onto the steep cart track, which quickly brings us to the forest-covered southeastern ridge of Gradišče. The path ahead continues for some time along and beside the indistinct ridge, when the path levels out, we bypass the highest point of Gradišče on the left side. When we are already on the other side of Gradišče, we join the path from Zreče (path via Gorenje pri Zrečah), we continue towards Rogla. Some fairly level path follows, when we reach the wider cart track it quickly brings us to the marked junction.
We continue slightly right towards Rogla, the tower and Koča na Jurgovem (left Rogla, parking lot, hotel Planja, church of the Transfiguration of Jesus on the mountain) and begin to ascend moderately first still through the forest, then along the edge of the grassy slope. After a shorter transverse ascent, we cross the pasture fence and arrive at Koča na Jurgovem.
For continuing towards Rogla already some 10 meters before the hut, we continue left onto the narrower asphalt road, along which in a few minutes we arrive at the crossroad with the main road Rogla - Pesek.
We only cross the mentioned road, then continue right to the nearby ski slope, along which the marked path continues. Further along the path, we notice some educational signs, as our path continues together with the Škrat learning path. A few more minutes of steeper ascent follow, at the upper station of the cable car the path levels out and to the top of Rogla, where the viewpoint tower stands, only a few easy steps separate us.
