Access to starting point:
From the border we continue on the highway towards Villese, from there in the direction of Portogruaro, where we turn onto the highway towards Conegliano, and then towards Ponte Nelle Alpi. There we leave the highway and we follow signposts towards Belluno and Agordo. Past Agordo we follow the road to Cencenighe Agordino, where in the center of the village we turn left, where signs point us towards Falcade and Passo San Pellegrino. About a kilometer before the top of the mountain pass, we notice on the left side a mighty building of the cable car Col Margherita, where we park on a giant parking lot.
Route description:
From the parking lot at the bottom station of the cableway Col Margherita, we continue on the left side past the building of the cableway on a service road. The path is marked with signs, after approximately 2 hours we arrive at a slope above the ski slope San Pellegrino, from where a view opens up on lake Cavia and mountain range San Martino.
We continue to the right past the chairlift, and we can shorten the path also directly on the route of the ski slope.
On the top, besides the upper building of the cableway there is also an inn, past the inn we ascend about 15 more minutes to the top of Col Margherita, where there is a designated viewpoint.
There is also a lot of remains from the First World War.
