Pod Hlipovcem - Komen

Access to starting point:
From highway Ljubljana - Maribor we go to the exit Šentrupert and we follow the road ahead towards the valley Logarska dolina. In the village Ljubno ob Savinji signpost for Smrekovec points us right. The road then runs through the center of the village, where we turn left again following the signs for Smrekovec. The road then brings us in Ljubenske Rastke, where at the crossroad near the church we continue left. An ascending road higher brings us to the hamlet of individual farms, and we follow it in the direction of partisan hospital and Komen (on signposts Kamen). The road which meanwhile already became macadam, higher brings us to a crossroad, where for traffic closed road branches off sharply to the right, which runs on a saddle Hlipovec. We park on an appropriate place near the crossroad.

Path description:
From the starting point, we continue on for the traffic closed road, from which soon a path branches off to the left on Travnik. We continue straight and we follow the road for approximately 10 minutes, when it brings us to a saddle Hlipovec.
From the saddle, we go slightly right in the direction of the mountain hut Dom na Smrekovcu, Komen (Kamen). The initial part of the path leads us on a cart track which soon brings us to a crossing, where we continue left upwards. Cart track soon turns into a footpath which starts ascending steeper. The path ahead is ascending mostly through the forest relatively steeply upwards. After a little less than half an hour of walking from Hlipovec we come out of the forest and in front of us, we notice wooden chapel (dedicated to St. Cyril and Methodius) where there is a crossing. We go left upwards towards the summit of Komen, which we reach in few minutes of additional walking on panoramic upper slope of the mountain.
