Pod Snežno jamo - Snežna jama na Raduhi

Access to starting point:
a) We drive to Mozirje and then continue in the direction of Logarska dolina. On the main road we drive to the settlement of Strmec, where immediately after Bar Bife we turn right onto a side road marked for Koča na Loki and Snežna jama. We gradually start to ascend more steeply and at all intersections we follow the signs for Snežna jama and Koča na Loki. After approximately 16 km we reach the parking lot at the junction for Koča na Loki, then we drive another approximately 1.3 km to the signs for Snežna jama, where we park in a suitable place.
b) From the Gorenjska direction we drive towards Črnivec pass, and before the pass we turn left towards Kranjski Rak or Volovljek pass. After Volovljek pass we start descending towards Luče, and in Luče we turn right towards Mozirje. The road then leads through the settlement of Raduha, after which we arrive in Strmec, where before Bar Bife we turn left onto the road marked for Koča na Loki and Snežna jama. We gradually start to ascend more steeply and at all intersections we follow the signs for Snežna jama and Koča na Loki. After approximately 16 km we reach the parking lot at the junction for Koča na Loki, then we drive another approximately 1.3 km to the signs for Snežna jama, where we park in a suitable place.

Route description:
At the starting point we notice signs for Snežna jama and Raduha, which direct us right onto a cart track that ascends through the forest. The cart track soon turns left and ascends transversely to a marked junction, where the path from Rogovilec joins from the left.
Here the marked path towards Raduha continues to the right, while we continue straight on the cart track, from which after a few steps we turn left towards Snežna jama (since the cave is currently closed, the directional signs have also been removed). A few crossings follow, after which we reach the log cabin of the Caving Club.
The path further into the cave is possible only in the company of guides from the Caving Club »Črni galeb« Prebold. Currently, however, the cave is closed to all visitors until further notice due to severe damage to the entrance and the collapse area caused by catastrophic floods and storms in August 2023, as the ground in this area is still unstable and there is a high risk of collapse.
