Podmrzlica, Matke - Mrzlica

Access to starting point:
From the Ljubljana–Celje motorway we go to the exit Šempeter v Savinjski Dolini and we drive through the settlement and then at the church we turn right and we follow the road all the way to the village Matke. We drive through the village Matke and at the crossroad at the end of Matke we continue straight (left - Hom). We soon get to a crossroad where we still continue straight (right - Marija Reka). After a few meters we get to a meadow where we park the car (there used to be a beehive).

Route description:
From the parking lot we go straight on the road to a crossing. We go ahead on the asphalt road, where we soon get to the house and signposts, which point us towards Mrzlica (1h 30 min). We follow the road to the saddle between Kamnik and Mrzlica where we again get to signs which point us ahead. The path passes into the forest past the chapel. After a good thirty minutes we come to a crossing of paths Kal and Mrzlica. We go on the upper (steep path) to Mrzlica. The path starts gently, but it soon starts steeply ascending and becomes quite a challenge for the knees. Towards the summit, the path flattens and we reach the macadam road, where we continue left. After 5 minutes we reach the hut. To the top there is approximately another 2 minutes.
