Podolševa (Rogar) - Obel kamen (Olševa) (west path)

Access to starting point:
A) We drive to Luče, then continue driving towards Logarska dolina. In the settlement Solčava, before the bridge over the river Savinja we leave the road towards Logarska dolina and continue right in the direction of Podolševa and Črna na Koroškem. After approximately 5 km of ascent we arrive at a crossroads, where we go left towards Sv. Duh (right Črna na Koroškem), then on the Solčava Panoramic Road we drive to the spot where the road branches off to the right towards the tourist farm Rogar. We park in a suitable spot near the crossroads. Parking in front of the farm is allowed for guests of the tourist farm. From the main road to the starting point there is approximately 7.5 km.
B) We drive to Črna na Koroškem, then continue driving in the direction of Koprivna and Solčava. We then drive for some time through the valley along the river Meža, then go left in the direction of Solčava and Logarska dolina. This is followed by an ascent to the Spodnje Sleme pass, from there some descent to a crossroads, where we go right towards Sv. Duh, then on the Solčava Panoramic Road we drive to the spot where the road branches off to the right towards the tourist farm Rogar. We park in a suitable spot near the crossroads. Parking in front of the farm is allowed for guests of the tourist farm. From the center of Črna na Koroškem to the starting point there is approximately 22.5 km.
C) Via the border crossing Pavličev Vrh we drive into Slovenia and begin descending towards Solčava. Soon after the Planinski dom Majerhold we go left in the direction of Podolševa and Solčava Panoramic Road. On the panoramic road we drive approximately another 500 m past the tourist farm Strevc, which is located below the church of Sv. Duh. We park in a suitable spot by the road, at the section where the road branches off towards the tourist farm Rogar. From the border crossing Pavličev Vrh to the starting point there is approximately 10.5 km.

Path description:
From the parking spot we first walk to the tourist farm Rogar, from there we continue on the marked path in the direction of Olševa. Above the farm a beautiful view opens up, the path soon enters the forest. We ascend through the forest for a few minutes, then cross a macadam road, where the path from the tourist farm Strevc joins from the left.
We continue in the direction of Potočka zijalka, Obel kamen and Govca. We then ascend on a well-beaten and gradually steeper path, which higher reaches the state border. This is followed by a few minutes of steep ascent, and from the left the path from Austria joins.
We continue right, and there follows another good 10 minutes of ascent, and the path brings us to the archaeological site Potočka zijalka.
We continue on the marked path, which bypasses the cave on the right side and with the help of safety gear ascends on the right side of a quite steep gully. A little further, with the help of pegs we cross the gully, then steeply ascend out of the gully. The path is also quite steep further on, and with every gained elevation meter it also becomes more panoramic.
On a smaller ridge the path forks, and we choose the left path in the direction of Obel kamen (straight ahead Govca). This is followed by a steep ascent on a mostly grassy slope, which higher is overgrown by dwarf pines. When we reach the main ridge, on the first subpeak we already notice the first logbook box (logbook box of the Mountaineering Club Skala), in which there was only a stamp in August 2018. From the first subpeak there follows a shorter ascent and we arrive at the next subpeak, where next to the cross there is also the second logbook box.
We continue right, and the path leads us along the panoramic border ridge of Olševa, where we mainly walk on the Slovenian side of the ridge. After a few minutes of fairly level walking the path ascends more steeply and brings us to Obel kamen, which we recognize by the border stone no. XXII 1.
