Povlje - Sveti Lovrenc (Bašelj)

Access to starting point:
A) From the Ljubljana - Jesenice highway, we take the Brnik exit; when we reach the Mengeš - Kranj road, we continue left towards Kranj. On the main road towards Kranj, we drive to the first roundabout, from which we continue on the first exit right in the direction of Šenčur. Through Šenčur, we continue on the main road, then when we reach the Kranj - Zgornje Jezersko road, we continue right in the direction of Jezersko. When we arrive in Preddvor, we leave the main road and continue driving left towards the center of the mentioned settlement; from there, we follow the signs for the Bašelj settlement. A little after the Bašelj settlement, the road descends to the Milka stream and crosses it over a bridge. Here, to the right first branches off the road to the village Babni Vrt, and good 100 m ahead also to the village Povlje. We continue on the ascending road towards Povlje and park on a smaller parking lot above the village. At the starting point, there is a smaller crossroad, several mountain signposts and a larger information board of the Trstenik walking-educational path "pot pod Storžičem".
B) From the Jesenice - Ljubljana highway, we take the Kranj west exit, then continue driving towards Golnik. When we arrive in Tenetiše, we leave the main road towards Golnik and continue driving right in the direction of Trstenik. Approximately 1 km after the Trstenik settlement, we arrive at a smaller crossroad, where we continue left in the direction of the Povlje village. We continue on the ascending road towards Povlje and park on a smaller parking lot above the village. At the starting point, there is a smaller crossroad, several mountain signposts and a larger information board of the Trstenik walking-educational path "pot pod Storžičem".

Path description:
From the starting point, we continue in the direction of the Trstenik walking-educational path "Pot pod Storžičem", that is, we continue on the asphalt road which turns right and a little higher leads past a few more houses and holiday cottages. Above the settlement, the asphalt ends, and the road passes into the forest, where a little ahead it crosses a torrent stream (in the upper part known as the southwest gully of Storžič, in the lower part not so distinct). After crossing the torrent ditch, where wild garlic grows in springtime, the road ascends diagonally towards the right for some time, then splits into two wide cart tracks. We continue on the lower right cart track, from which already after a few steps we go left into the forest, on the path in the direction of St. Lovrenc. The path continues for some time without major changes in elevation, then we join a cart track, on which we quickly arrive at the Srečotovi mlinčki.
A little above the mills, we leave the cart track, as the signs for path P2 (Pot pod Storžičem) direct us right onto a footpath that continues through dense forest (straight on the cart track to Storžič, Kališče...). After a few minutes, we reach the ridge that connects Gora (peak above the church of St. Lovrenc) with the Storžič massif, and we continue right. At the next marked junction, we go straight in the direction of St. Lovrenc, then the path leads us in a moderate ascent on the eastern side of Gora. When the ascent ends, we see the church of St. Lovrenc in front of us, to which we descend in a few dozen steps.
