Prtovč - Kosmati vrh (Ratitovec) (via Jesenovec)

Access to starting point:
A) First, we drive to Škofja Loka, then continue driving towards Železniki. When we arrive in Železniki, at the crossroads where the road to Kropa, Dražgoše and Rudno branches off to the right, we continue straight, then shortly after the Mercator store, or opposite the company Niko d.o.o., we continue right towards Podlonka and Prtovča. We continue on the mentioned road, which starts to ascend more steeply, and we follow the asphalt road entirely to the parking lot on Prtovč, located near the church of Marija Pomočnica.
From the main road in Železniki to the starting point is less than 6 km.
B) From Cerkno, Podbrdo or Sorica we drive to Zali Log, then continue driving towards Škofja Loka. When we arrive in Železniki, we leave the main road and continue driving left towards Podlonka and Prtovča. We continue on the mentioned road, which starts to ascend more steeply, and we follow the asphalt road entirely to the parking lot on Prtovč, located near the church of Marija Pomočnica.

Path description:
From the starting point, we walk to the nearby NOB monument located at the beginning of the village Prtovč, and from the mentioned crossroads we continue on the right road in the direction of the hunting lodge on Toli. The path first leads along a panoramic road from which a nice view opens towards Dražgoše and surrounding hills, then passes into the forest through which it ascends transversely. Soon a short road branches off to the right to the aforementioned hunting lodge, and we continue straight ahead and continue the transverse ascent to the right. Higher up, or after approximately 45 minutes of walking from the starting point, we arrive at the ridge where beside the road we notice a small marker, and to the right some view opens towards Železniki. Here the road stops ascending, and we reach the marked path Raztovka - Ratitovec, which we follow left into the forest. After a short ascent we reach the cart track along which we quickly arrive at the marked junction, where we continue slightly left (slightly right Planina Klom).
We continue in the direction of Kosmati vrh on the path which gradually passes onto the forested ridge. The path ahead ascends quite steeply for a short time, then brings us out of the forest onto the grazing areas of the aforementioned peak. Here the trail partly disappears and turns slightly to the left where it passes onto the summit slope of Kosmati vrh. Further ahead the trail completely disappears, and we continue in the direction towards the south or southwest. For easier orientation the blazes on rocks assist us, which however are not visible in fog, so orientation is then somewhat more difficult. We follow this "path", which ascends moderately to steeply, all the way to the panoramic Kosmati vrh, which we reach after a good 15 minutes of further walking.
