Račevsko jezero - Vrh Svetih Treh Kraljev

Access to starting point:
A) From the highway Ljubljana - Koper, take the Vrhnika exit, then continue driving on the parallel old road towards Logatec. Soon we will notice signs for Stara Vrhnika, which direct us to the right. Follow the road to Stara Vrhnika and onward towards Podlipa and Velika Ligojna. After Stara Vrhnika, leave the main road and continue left in the direction of Podlipa and Smrečje. After Podlipa, the road starts to ascend more steeply; higher up, the road from Horjul also joins from the right. Here continue slightly left and follow the occasionally somewhat narrower road to Smrečje. The road then starts descending; follow it to the crossroad, where the road towards Lavrovec branches off to the right. Park in a suitable place by the road.
b) From Horjul past Vrzdenec drive towards Gorenja vas. In the first sharp right turn, a road branches off to the left to the village Šentjošt nad Horjulom. Turn onto this road and follow it to the next crossroad, where turn right (left downwards to Vrhnika). The road soon brings us to the village Smrečje. The road then starts descending; follow it to the crossroad, where the road towards Lavrovec branches off to the right. Park in a suitable place by the road.
c) From Škofja Loka, drive on the regional road to Žiri, from there take the road that goes along the Račeva River upwards in the direction of the villages Smrečje and Žirovski Vrh. Continue following the road towards Smrečje and Vrh Svetih Treh Kraljev. Just before reaching Račevsko Lake, arrive at a crossroad where a road branches off to the left towards the village Lavrovec. Park in a suitable place by the crossroad.

Path description:
From the crossroad, continue on the marked path which continues south (opposite side of the road leading to Lavrovec). The marked path immediately crosses a small stream over a small bridge and then turns right into the forest, through which it begins to ascend more steeply. Higher up, the path makes a sharp left turn and then joins a somewhat wider cart track. Continue the ascent for some time on the mentioned cart track, then step onto the asphalt road, which we follow to the right. A little higher the road splits into two parts; continue on the left one (right to Vrh Svetih Treh Kraljev past Petač), which quickly brings us to a smaller hamlet in the village. Walk past the houses; the road quickly brings us to a boules court, where a marked path from Rovte also joins from the left. Continue right and past the Rupnik Line in one minute of further walking reach the mountain hut on Vrh Svetih Treh Kraljev.
From the mountain hut, continue on the marked hiking path, which steeply ascends through increasingly sparse forest. The path then levels out and leads to an asphalt road, along which in a few minutes of further walking we reach the panoramic summit.
