Access to starting point:
Leave the Primorska motorway at the Razdrto exit; when we reach the regional (old) road, follow the signs for Razdrto. A little further on, after the bus stop, turn right towards the centre of the settlement; at the junction there are also signs for Nova Gorica (straight on the old road towards Koper). In Razdrto we then turn right again, this time towards Strane and Veliki Ubeljsek; before crossing the motorway we park in a large gravel car park.
Route description:
From the car park we cross the bridge over the motorway, then at the junction continue left towards Vojkova koča and Abram. After a few dozen steps on the gravel road, the signs for Nanos direct us right onto a moderately steep footpath that begins to ascend across a scenic grassy slope. After a short climb the path passes through a belt of shrubs that higher up turns into forest. The path then turns slightly to the left and leads us to a marked junction where we continue right in the direction of the sign "Nanos - steep path" (left St. Hieronim and gentle path). We continue ascending moderately for some time, then the path begins to climb ever more steeply. Higher up we notice an interesting verse; we follow the marked path for only a few more minutes to a nearby, indistinct viewpoint. At this point the marked path turns sharply right, while we continue straight on a considerably narrower but well-followable hunting trail. The hunting trail ascends gently across relatively steep slopes and after about 15 minutes of walking from where we left the marked path brings us to an unmarked but clearly visible junction.
Here we continue right and proceed up the quite steep so-called Janez's path. It climbs almost straight up the slope and soon leads us out of the forest, above which it becomes even steeper. We continue the ascent on a well-followable and very steep trail that leads across the slopes of Rebrnice. Due to its considerable steepness the path is exposed to falling rocks (otherwise it runs across a grassy slope, so there is not much rock, yet game or hikers ahead of us can dislodge a stone). After about 30 minutes of steep climbing we reach the edge of the Nanos plateau where the terrain levels out. Here we continue sharply right on a wide path that leads towards the transmitters on Nanos. Just before the transmitters the path turns left, descends into a belt of forest and then, passing the monument to Janko Premrl - Vojko, brings us to Vojkova koča on Nanos.
Razdrto - Žingarca 0:25, Žingarca - turn-off from the marked path 0:25, turn-off from the marked path - edge of plateau 1:00, edge of plateau - Vojkova koča 0:10.

Along the route: Žingarca (729m), Odcep Janezove poti (871m), Razgledišče (1201m)

Discussion about the trip Razdrto - Vojkova koča na Nanosu (Janez's path)

At the beginning it's a nice forested path, which then turns into a rocky section. The last good kilometer turns into a grassy slightly steeper section. You enjoy the hike because nature is diverse at every step. I recommend the path as I have good experiences, but it is not recommended in bad weather conditions. I enjoyed the path and warmly recommend it

WARNING: On Saturday we went up, great weather, but when we returned to the parking lot, the neighboring car had a broken window. The parking lot is probably very attractive to various burglars, so I recommend not leaving anything valuable in visible places or put everything in the trunk, and close the windows completely. Better to have a 10 degrees hotter car and wait a bit longer to air it out than risk a break-in. Best
