Access to starting point:
A) We leave the Gorenjska highway at the Kranj west exit, and then we follow the signs for Golnik. After Golnik we arrive at the settlement Senično, and we park beside the larger chapel located on the right side of the road already behind the sign that marks the end of the Golnik settlement.
B) From the road Naklo - Tržič, in the settlement Retnje, we turn onto the road in the direction of Križe and Golnik. In Križe, at the stop sign we turn right towards Golnik, and we drive on the main road almost to the beginning of the settlement Senično. About 100 meters before the settlement on the left side of the road we notice a larger chapel, beside which we park.
Path description:
Right from the chapel, along the left edge of the meadow, we notice a beaten footpath that quickly leads us into a forest belt. After crossing a smaller stream, the path turns right and leads onto expansive hayfields, and we follow the footpath that leads across the hayfields and brings us to the asphalt road after a few minutes, which we reach at the beginning or end of the village Spodnje Vetrno. We continue along the asphalt road that ascends through the village, at a few smaller crossroads choosing the slightly right direction. Higher, at the last houses the road turns right and enters the forest.
At the last house the asphalt ends, and we continue on the road that is closed to public traffic with a traffic sign. The road soon turns left, and we continue straight on the cart track in the direction of Gozd. Further we ascend on the wide cart track, to which the cart track from Golnik soon joins.
After the junction the cart track narrows, and from it a steep path branches off slightly to the left, which higher crosses the cart track a few more times.
We continue on the mentioned path, which after the last crossing of the cart track turns somewhat to the left and brings us above a steep ravine. For a short time we continue above the steep ravine, then the path goes somewhat to the right and splits a few times. We choose the path that is better beaten, along which in a few minutes of further walking we arrive at Zavetišče v Gozdu.
