Stara Fužina - Koča na Uskovnici (via planina Blatce)

Access to starting point:
We drive to Bohinjska Bistrica, and then continue driving in the direction of Lake Bohinj. In Ribčev Laz, from the crossroads at the beginning of Lake Bohinj, we continue right in the direction of Srednja vas, Studor and Stara Fužina. The road then leads us over a bridge and past the church of St. John the Baptist; a few hundred meters further, we already arrive in Stara Fužina. In Stara Fužina, we first drive past Pension Lipa, apartments Triglav, the bus station, Mercator store, and then arrive at the crossroads by the chapel, where we continue on the left road in the direction of the parking lot, Korita Mostnice, Hudičev most and mountain paths on the mountain pastures Blato and Vogar and the path into Voje Valley. From the crossroads, some ascent follows; when the settlement ends, we arrive at the paid parking lot, where we park.

Path description:
At the beginning of the parking lot, the signs for the gorge and waterfall Mostnice direct us right onto a wide path, along which in a few minutes we arrive at Hudičev most. We continue right (straight to Korita Mostnice and Voje) over the bridge, after the bridge we go left onto the footpath in the direction of Uskovnica. Already immediately when we leave the road, the path starts to ascend steeply through the forest. After a few minutes, we cross a newer cart track, then continue ascending relatively steeply. Higher up, the steepness starts to decrease gradually, and the path brings us into a small valley, where the path flattens completely and brings us out of the forest onto the upper edge of the mountain pasture Blatce.
Here on a small saddle, we continue left and quickly ascend to the macadam road that leads from Srednja vas or Studor in Bohinj towards Uskovnica. For some time we continue along the road, then a marked path from Srednja vas joins from the right, a little further on we go left onto the footpath in the direction of Uskovnica. The path ahead leads us past a trough with water, about a minute higher we cross the macadam road. A short ascent through the forest follows, then at the bench and cross the path flattens, a few steps further we return to the macadam road. We continue walking along the gentle macadam road, which leads us through the forest for some time; when the forest ends, we arrive at mountain pasture Lom, where there are a few huts and where another path from Srednja vas joins from the right.
The gentle macadam road, which we follow at the crossroads in the direction of Uskovnica, then brings us to the weekend cottages on Uskovnica, where we leave it just a little after the trough with water and continue left onto the cart track in the direction of Koča na Uskovnici. After approximately 50 meters of ascent along the cart track, we reach Koča na Uskovnici; from it, we can continue past the hummocky meadows to the chapel about 5 minutes away, from which a nice view opens up.
